Craft & Equipment: SPECTRUM UNIFORMS - ANGEL PILOTS
CAPTAIN SCARLET and the MYSTERONS UNOFFICIAL WEBSITE
by Chris Bishop
The five Angel Interceptors pilots - stationed on Cloudbase - have their own flight uniform, very different from that of the colour-coded officers. Their uniform is very personal and unique, and they are the only ones in the Spectrum organisation wearing it.
While off duty on Cloudbase, the Angels are not bound to wear the uniform, so it's not rare to see one of them wearing more fashionable, feminine clothing, even in the Amber Room. The Angel flight uniform comes complete with a crash helmet, with part of it made of some transparent material, sporting the Spectrum logo in front. The equivalent of the radiocap transmitter is built within the helmet, and works the same way, with the flashing epaulettes, which are built in the Angel flight uniform, as it is the case with the uniform of colour-coded officers. When not wearing the helmet on flight duty - such as piloting an helicopter - the Angel pilot can use a headphone, with a transmitter very similar to that of the radio helmet. It is unclear what is the actual rank of each Angel pilot, for like any Spectrum uniforms, theirs doesn't sport ranks… But it could be speculated that they are officers of some sort, though of an rank inferior to that of the Cloudbase Captains.
