CHALLENGE OF FIVE STARTS! NEW ALL-YEAR LONG CHALLENGE, IN HONOUR OF THE FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE SPECTRUM HEADQUARTERS SITE!
It's been five years since the first fan fiction challenge has been launched on the Spectrum Headquarters site.
Those of you who are regular visitors may recall that it was around May 2002 that I asked writers to try their hand on a horror or fantastic-based story, that would be posted at the following Halloween. Well, that first challenge has been a tremendous success, considering the interest of people of writing those stories - and those other people reading them. Since then, it was decided to add new challenges on this site. The Halloween Challenge was quickly followed by the Christmas Challenge - which was even more a success than the previous one.
Considering their enormous success, both the Christmas and Halloween challenges are back each year - so consider yourself warned and prepare yourself in order to participate to them!
Other challenges were presented to this site - and other might follow eventually, if the occasion should arise.
There is LadyHawke's challenge, to write a story that would be inspired by one or more of the beautiful paintings that Ron Embleton made for the end credits of the TV series. It was dubbed the Spectrum Challenge, and is also called the End Credits Challenge and has now became a permanent year-round feature. So any time you want, people, you can present a story inspired by those panels. It's not important if the panels that inspires you has been taken already - this is what makes it interesting!
The Multiverse Challenge was launched a couple of years ago, and continues to be a success ever since, although the stories submitted for this challenge often will find themselves amongst the listing of other challenges as well!
Now there is the Challenge of Five to celebrate the five year anniversary of the Spectrum Headquarters site. That's right: this site has been around FIVE YEARS!
So go for it, people! And try the challenges! There are just some few simple rules to follow for each of them - most of them common to all challenges. If ever you are interested to submit to one of those challenges, you just have to contact the webmaster!
And more importantly: have fun!
