As you all know, the Spectrum HQ website doesn't have a challenge for Valentine's Day, but nearly each year, some of our regular authors submitted stories specifically for this occasion. So this year, we offer them a small gif, that's been long-delayed: within the Fan Fiction section, we now have a "Valentine's Day Stories" page! http://www.spectrum-headquarters.com/fa ... ne_day.htm
The link can be found on the main fan fiction page, as well as on all the fan fiction sub-sections pages. Of course, all the stories are still acccessible through each author's page, as well as on the Archives page.
And consequently, two new stories have been added to our collection this year:
THE CHOCOLATIER'S HOUSE, by Skybase Girl. New Captain Scarlet. With Valentine's Day approaching, someone is checking inspiration for a very special gift.
http://www.spectrum-headquarters.com/fa ... _house.htm
FROM THE HEART, by Caroline Smith. Captain Ochre struggles to find the right words to say to a former lover as Valentine’s Day approaches.
http://www.spectrum-headquarters.com/fa ... _heart.htm
Thanks to both authors for these wonderful gifts!
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

As the author of one of this year's Valentine's Day stories, I would like to pay tribute to the brilliance of my fellow writer, Caroline Smith.
Check out "From the Heart", everyone. And when you've read it, don't stop there. Read it again, because only then will all the little subtleties, the nuances, creep through. This is prosaically elegant writing at it's best.
Well done Caroline, glad to have you back !

I have to say that Skybase Girl's story is the first Captain Scarlet fanfic I've ever read that made me feel hungry. And let me tell you, a Coles supermarket home brand 'Nut Delight' bar just doesn't cut it.

Yes, during this tough spell in my personal life when I've had real problems concentrating on writing, I'm very glad that I've been able to complete a story (albeit very short) in this iconic year of the website.
Thanks for all your support, my good friends.
Skybase Girl - I'd like to return the compliment. You have a very sophisticated 'first person' style, whether female (NCS Ochre - Blood & Candlesmoke) or male (NSC Blue - The Chocolatier's House). Both viewpoints ring true to the ear, and in this Valentine's Day story, you have drawn Blue with such a perfect mixture of bravado, pithiness and concern for the woman he loves. What a clever idea, to express your feelings for someone through chocolate! Brava!!!
Mind you, what's really scary is that you rendered him so sympathetically, and realistically, that I might be in danger of actually liking this character.....
(Quick, find me a sofa I can hide behind, Marion's after me!

Chris, nice idea about the Valentine's Day page, there ARE a decent number of stories, I was quite surprised! Only, just don't expect one from me every year...(meep)

First: in the FAN FICTION section:
SECOND CHANCE, by Keith Ansell. A short story, filling the blank from the first episode, of what happened to the real Scarlet, between the SSC crash and the fall from the Car-Vu.
http://www.spectrum-headquarters.com/fa ... chance.htm
Previously posted in 2004 on Unity City ( http://unitycity.sfdaydreams.com ) this story is now part of our website. I want to thank Keith for his contribution, and I salute our colleagues at Unity City, who are doing a great job promoting Gerry Anderson shows!
Next: from Space City ( http://spacecity.sfdaydreams.com ) the sister site of Unity City, a link to a new FIREBALL XL5 book, "Out of Time", written by Robin Day.
http://www.spectrum-headquarters.com/tr ... reball.htm
And finally, two new links have been added to the LINK page:
- The TV Tropes page on Captain Scarlet
- David Sission Models
http://www.spectrum-headquarters.com/page7.html
Come back soon for more goodies!

And it's good to see Second Chance here, too. I think that was one of the first Scarlet fanfics I ever saw.
