Halloween Fan Fiction Challenge - 2009 Edition
Moderators: chrisbishop, Spectrum Strike Force
This is the last update for this year's Halloween Challenge! We had eleven posts this year - ten stories in all, as one of them was a two-parter!
Here are the last entries for this year:
"Living the Vida L'Ochre", by Marion Woods. We leave you to guess who this is about...

"Not a Rest Centre", by Keryn. Another fine entry from a very talented writer.

"The Walking Dead, Part 2: Snakes and Rainbows", by Christ Bishop. The conclusion of the story started last week.

and last, but not least, the return of our annual Spectrum Halloween Costume Party:
"Spectrum in Rehearsal", brought to you by Caroline Smith, Hazel Kohler, Marion Woods and Chris Bishop.

Also, a few montages made by Intensity Angel for our Halloween Pics Page.

Hoping you'll enjoy these last stories as you did the previous.
And don't forget - very soon: The Christmas Challenge!

I know there were several works in the pipeline that didn't make the deadline, but I hope to read them next year... this challenge does bring out some of the best Scarlet fiction, presumably because the ethos of Halloween chimes in so well with the 'darker' side of Captain Scarlet.
Long may it continue!

The pictures were smashing too - Caroline is such a gifted artist, we are lucky to have her with us!
The colonel - as always - entertained us with a splendid story, with a refreshing take on the characters too...

And we had some interesting pictures of the Angels from Intensity Angel too...
It was fun.

Same goes for your two Halloween stories, showng your talent at switching from horror to humour at a single stroke.
Keryn's story struck a real chord with me, she has a real talent at writing the short story wth a sucker punch at the end.
THe same goes for Talia, another superb short story from her.
Colonel Chris, confess not to have read 'Walking Dead' just yet, I haven't been able to get time on a PC, beng in bonny Scotland for the week, but hope very much to give myself a treat this week.
My apologies if I left anyone out! It's been cracking Halloween, the only dismayng thng about it is how fast it seems to come around each time..

Sage – it must be quite surreal to be in the position that Richard Fraser found himself – an ‘observer’ at his own funeral, dead to those from his past life and having to come to terms with his new one. I think you captured what must have been going through his mind very well indeed and I enjoyed the descriptions of the other members of Spectrum as seen through his eyes. Nicely done!
I wish that we had more stories from D. Lynn Bivens and Kimberley Murphy – I found ‘Pawns of Evil’ an excellent read and in such an interesting format; I could visualise the action so clearly.

Marion – seeing Hallowe’en through Ochre’s eyes was great fun, especially with what transpired - most enjoyable.
Keryn – such a poignant story and, as you say, regarding something that touches many of us. Beautifully written.
Colonel Chris – I have to admit that, like Caroline, I have not yet had time to read this in full. From what I have read thus far, I know I'm in for a treat and look forward to setting aside some quality time asap!
Intensity – no Hallowe’en would be complete without the Angels dressing up and they certainly made a statement in your atmospheric montages. Well done.
As for ‘Spectrum in Rehearsal’... my word, Caroline! Simply stunning!
