PLEASE! CAREFULLY READ THIS IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TAPES AND DVD:

Be aware of the different Regions and recording Formats. UK tapes and DVD are PAL format - and DVD discs are Region 2, which means that PAL TAPES ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH UK VIDEO SYSTEMS AND REGION 2 DVD DISCS ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH EUROPEAN PLAYERS -- THEY WILL NOT WORK IN US EQUIPMENT. Unless you have a system that will enable you to, you will not be able to view these medias in North American machines, which use NTSC recording format, and Region 1 for DVD discs. The same is true the other way around. Please note that some DVD players can play any format. Check the compatibility of your equipment before ordering.

December 17, 2010: New items listed in DVD (U.K.)

In 1975, Gerry And Sylvia Anderson produced their second sci-fi live-action series (the first one, of course, being "UFO"). Space: 1999 started up with a totally original idea never before - or even since! - seen in any TV series: a nuclear explosion on the Moon blows Earth's only natural satellite out of its orbit and sent it out of the solar system and across space. With apparently no chance of ever returning home, the 300 inhabitants of the Moonbase Alpha must now learn to survive on their own, living the hardship of a recluse life on the Moon, and encountering other species. Starring Martin Landau and Barbara Bain (of the "Mission: Impossible" TV series fame), the series lasted two years. Some fans prefer the first season, while others like the second better. It doesn't really matter what your choice is: the series was a blast, and earned a well-deserved success around the world!
