The Hummingbird is Spectrum’s versatile and multi-task helicopter. It can seat a pilot and four people in comfort in a cabin that can be configured so that the seats are all facing forward or with the front seats facing backwards to form a small command center equipped with a complete computer system constantly linked with Skybase. Capable of landing on virtually any type of terrain with its standard, wheeled, retractable undercarriage, it can also land on water if need be, thanks to retractable floats within the nose and side engine pods. The Hummingbird is used mostly for carrying passengers and for reconnaissance work, but it can also be used to carry loads with the help of grappling hooks on the undercarriage.
While not as equipped as the Falcon interceptor or the Albatross, it is not defenseless, as it is equipped with a high-power Gatling gun in its belly. While standard helicopters are limited by altitude and air thinness, the Hummingbird can count on jets in addition to its blades to reach Skybase. They offer superior air agility and ascents and descents that are faster than any other known helicopter. The Hummingbird has a dedicated landing pad identified as 05, right underneath the Skybase Central Control tower. |
