Server problems

I just thought I would let people know - in case Colonel Chris can't - that there are problems with the Forum's server.
Colonel Chris is badgering them to sort it out - it seems we are not alone and many other sites are affected too. I know yesterday Chris couldn't get on to the forum at all - although my access is patchy - (fingers crossed this loads!).
I guess the thing to say is - Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.. . :grin:

I was able to get back online! Apparently, there was another problem, this one with MY Router, who didn't seem to recognise the website DNS for a valid one. Once I removed the router and connected the modem cable directly in the PC network card, I was finally able to access the site.

However - the site is still erratic, although THREE techs from the domain provide insisted that 'Everything had been repaired, check your ISP, we are not the problem'. Well, in view of the fact that *I* couldn't get to access the site, they were right, but they certainly are WRONG with the site working well again! Most of the members of this forum DON'T share the same ISP as me! The majority of you are from U.K., which seems to make that assumption pretty obvious. So *I* insisted that they would look this up further.

In the meanwhile, the site and forum are still working, if a little annoyingly, so I hope you'll all have patience as I hope that, like Marion said, everything should come back to normal as soon as possible.

As for myself, I'll be going out tonight to buy a new router...

I'm having my problems with my own net but the site remains the same. Another forum I write on (who I think use the same forum template at this site) has had its problems this week.

I am still experiencing problems with the forum loading and not logging me in properly.

Seems like there is a definite infestation of Gremlins...

Everything seems to be working from my end at the moment.

No problems accessing the forum then logging in, seems to be OK opening various topics as well.

This is my test to see if posting messages works. :wink:

Seems to be working now. I did have the whole 'missing smilies, page not showing' stuff, and one of my posts wouldn't...err...post, but it seems fine now.
Fingers crossed anyway!
