The Blue/Symphony Thing

Though the essay at the beginning of this thread is very interesting, I doubt the writer would have intended any of it.

He obviously just wanted to write lots of wacky shenanigans with things getting more and more out of control - all things they couldn't get away with before (and, hey, why not chuck Black in there just to be really surreal!) - and the dream thing is just a cop out at the end to reset everything. Though I've always asked: why? There's only one more episode broadcast after this one, and only two more episodes were made after "Attack" was made. Why didn't they just use it to end the series and have everybody blown up? Would have been downbeat but bloody dramatic.

I'd dispute that! I spent the best part of 7 months fancying a girl like mad, to the extent that nearly everybody in my circle of friends knew... except her. She hadn't a clue, or wasn't willing to admit it, despite the fact we'd been out together about three times along the seafront, and she'd been invited to my house on two different evenings. I couldn't have made it more obvious that I was mad about her. :shock:

Yep - gotta agree with that.
I think the 'romance (that) bubbled sedately beneath the surface' [to paraphrase the Drake/Bassett book on CS] is wonderful. It adds a layer of 'character' to an otherwise almost completely action-based series.
And - I admit - I can quite understand what she sees in him!

I like them too, it's pretty much impossible to avoid the fact there is something 'not entirely platonic' going on there; and there's some interesting dynamics to play with.
They were my first pairing ever, from way back when I was a weeny sage before I'd even started writing fanfic. So they'll always have a special place in my heart, even though I don't necessarily write fic about them all that much now.

Here's a little something to ponder;

In "The Mysteron Rap" clip on YouTube, Colonel White says "What's the matter with you man? Are you in love with the girl?"....but, instead of Blue who said "I suppose I am...Yes I am!", it's Scarlet......and he was referring to the Mysteron model, Gabrielle! :-D
