Symphony's Hair?
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force

But did it ever appear in the series like this? I only recall it as long, but worn straight down, or the later shorter (and more practical) bob...

No, I don't think she ever does - although some of her long 'hairdos' are pretty amazing... these are about as close
as she gets:

I expect the radiation at Culver Atomic station affected her hair in the last picture! Which goes to prove that if you nuke your hair - you can't do a thing with it...

Don't think she ever did, there was a fair bit of a curl to it in Model Spy but otherwise not really. Far as I recall.
Gotta love the dodgy 60s hair.

It's not surprising she had it cut is it? It must've taken hours to achieve a beehive like that, only for it to be flattened every time she put her helmet on. Although to be fair, even the short hair had its problems...

This thread has given me a great idea for a fic, well vignette I guess. About Symphony of course, having a bad hair day.
Am in the mood for Symphony fics of late, guess cause it's near her birthday (yes I am enough of a loser to acknowledge their birthdays, and keep track of them via the lovely calendar).

Presumably a hair extension ?

I remember reading somewhere that the decision was made to cut the model's hair, as she was too easily confused with Destiny Angel when both had long, blonde hair.
Out of interest, DID anyone ever confuse the two of them?

She looks better with short hair anyway IMO (loved the fic [or scene thereof] you wrote to explain that away)
Can't say I ever confused them. Always found they were distinct enough, with regards face and voice I suppose, for them not to get mixed up. Those opening credits and the frequent use of the Angels names were pretty helpful too.
Symphony was, and still is, my favourite. I so wanted to be her when I was eight.
But then I was a total obsessive for the first scene, perhaps a more casual observer might get them confused.

Marion wrote:Of course, in the best Anderson tradition, Symphony's hair length is not consistant. She cuts it (for whatever reason) after the 'Shadow of Fear' episode and it stays short - on the whole - except in 'The Launching' when it sudden becomes a long plait again... only to revert to the short bob immediately afterwards.

Only when I was very, VERY new to the series. It was easy enough to work out, once I'd watched enough episodes.

and if we are talking about exotic hair-dos - Destiny wins hands down on that occasion

I think this picture of Symphony is excellent - most realistic...

Her hairstyle is far more wearable, you could even get away with it today (see Gerry was a visionary on so many levels

LOL those curled round bits on Destiny's hair remind me of Princess Leia.
Still I think the award for best 'utterly WTF! hairdo' has to go to Melody in the resturant scene of 'Big Ben strikes again'.
Anyone have a picture?
Even after 12 years I still can't work out what it is. Let alone how anyone could assemble it.
Am really intrigued now about how they did those fancy hairstyle and kept them together. Surely they couldn't have used regular hair pins and elastics, those would have been too 'big'.

BTW - Destiny seems to be wearing the dress she isn't given until 'Model Spy'.

She also looks cross eyed in this scene. I reckon it could be one - or all - of several reasons.
She was appalled at the fashion sense of her companions....
She was bored by Captain Blue's explantion of the ticking bomb....
Or - she was squiffy already
