Yes indeed, welcome to our new writer Janile! (New to this forum at least). “Earth’s Shadows” is a clever follow up to her ‘Missing Scene’ story, “Children of this Universe.” That was a refreshing look at the scenes behind Spectrum’s formation and the run-up to the events on Mars, then the fallout that followed.
“Earth’s Shadows’ neatly ties in both Christmas and Scarlet’s birthday in describing what happens in the months that follow.
Without giving away spoilers, I particularly liked Dr Fawn’s comment : “I always suspected that tact and diplomacy were a closed book to Captain Scarlet.”
Well done, a great start to the Challenge and good luck to all who participate. May the Inspiration Fairy reside on your shoulder!

May I add my thanks and congratulations to our newest writer, Janile for her latest contribution, "Earth's Shadows"? This ought my favourite of her three stories, that she submitted in quick succession on this end of the year. All three are well worth the read. Well done, Janile! :-;)

And also, thanks for Marion Woods for her latest story "The 99% Birthday". You did find a way to attract that inspiration fairy, did you?

Another FANTASTICeffort from the Calendar Team getting 2019 off to a brilliant start!

Well, Marion bet me to it but I really, really do agreed with her, it is a FANTASTIC calendar. (shock_0)

I will say that I just love Blue's and Ochre's pictures but all of them are really cool. :-;)

How do you lot come up with the ideas? ;-$

(Tongue in cheek. If you need an idea for the next one, how about buildings that would be important to each character? Like Winchester Cathedral maybe for Scarlet? And if there's no real building that fits a character, then you could have the fun of making one up. Just a thought.)

Mine's coming, I've just got to get the ideas to behave so I can get the end, finished. Anyone with a lasso?

Re: buildings: that's a nice idea, and even if it is not used as a calendar theme, we could have fun thinking of which building or landmark would suit which character, in either series. :wink:

Marion, absolutely well done, my hat off to you for getting out a Scarlet birthday story!!! You never fail to amaze me.

I'm working my way through Janile's story, and enjoying it so far, but a week in Scotland with family has carved into my personal time, I hope to finish it as I nurse my lovely cold.."sniff..cough..splutter" :cry:
