1: In the episode ‘Crater 101’ we see Lieutenant Green and then Captain Blue become transfix by an optical display. It shows up again in which other episode?
.....Dangerous Rendezvous. Captain Scarlet is faced with it when he tries to negotiate with the Mysterons in Greenland.
2: What is the material that the Maximum Security Vehicle’s windows made out of?
.....Lead Quartz, being radiation proof.
According to my source - Graham Bleathman’s cross-sections book. I will also accept Marion’s answer as I know that there is conflicting information about Spectrum out there.
Maybe Spectrum’s way to keep things as secret as possible?

3: In this story Captain Scarlet unexpectedly finds that he is able to spend Christmas Eve with his parents (along with Captain Blue) but it turns out to be an asphyxiating night. What is its title and who wrote it?
.....The Mistletoe Bough. By Marion Woods.
Poor Scarlet, even at home he’s not safe. Where oh where

The point table.
Marion: 41.........Lt Pine: 30
Chris: 21...........Carrie: 21
Elentari: 2
Marion you got 6 points for being the first to answer set Twenty-five's questions and Carrie got 4 as she was the first with the other answer to question two. She also was the first to answer set Twenty-four.

.....Traitor
.....Place of Angels
As a rough guess, I'd say all of them

2: In which Spectrum vehicles would you find food rations?
The MSV and the Yellow Fox transporter, although several (such as the SPJ) have food preparation areas, which suggests they might also have the food to prepare... (I also can't help imagining that any vehicle driven by Captain Ochre would have a compliment of fast food/takeaway boxes by the time he'd finished with it

3: This story is a collaboration of three writers and takes a well-known Dickens story using it as inspiration. What is its title and who are its three authors?
A White Christmas Carol, by Chris Bishop, Mary Rudy and Sue Stanhope.

Q1: Traitor
Q2: The 1967 CS annual states that the MPV has a 'survival food kit' which has been renamed with rather more sophistication in the Haynes manual as a 'refreshment cabinet'. Drinks anyone? Cheers!
Q3: A White Christmas Carol, written by Chris Bishop, Mary J Rudy and Sue Stanhope.

1. Captains Blue flies a dead Scarlet back to Cloudbase in a Spectrum helicopter at the end of Expo 2068
2. An SPJ is 78 feet long and has a 37 foot wingspan. (Taken from The Complete Book of Captain Scarlet by Chris Bentley.)
3. Scarlet finding himself back as a puppet. I'm going to have to go with the splendid 'Back to Basics' by one of SHQ's long-standing authors - Hazel KÖHLER

2. SPJ is 70 feet long with a wing span of 35 feet. (Captain Scarlet annual, published in 1968 - the 2nd one of the two.)
3. Back to Basics, by Hazel Kohler - a true classic of the SHQ website.

I honestly picked his one up first out of sheer laziness as I had a spare copy in the study, where the PC resides, rather than trek across the landing to the bookcase with all my CS tomes. perhaps I ought to have double checked, although such discrepancies are always chuckle-worthy. Good luck, VMR scoring this one!
Here's to the continuing Anderson Discontinuity Universe!

Further research reveals that the Bentley book credits copyright 1967 and copyright 2001... and the 1967 annual does say 78 ft long and 37 ft wingspan.... as does the Haynes Manual , so I guess those measurements have it over the 1968 annual...
Oh, the joys of Anderverse continuity!

1: ‘Angels two and three - prepare for launch:’ is said by Lieutenant Green in which episode?
.....Traitor.
This is the only time you hear Lieutenant Green say this phase. ‘Angels two and three - immediate launch:’ is what he usually says.
2: In which Spectrum vehicles would you find food rations?
.....Graham Bleathman’s book of cross-sections shows that the Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle carries High-protein concentrated food supplies and the Maximum Security Vehicle carries survival food rations.
However I think that this wasn’t a good question in the end because there really no clear answer to it, as Marion and Carrie pointed out. So both of them will get full points for this question. An interesting topic for a discussion maybe?
3: This story is a collaboration of three writers and takes a well-known Dickens story using it as inspiration. What is its title and who are its three authors?
.....A White Christmas Carol, by Chris Bishop, Mary Rudy and Sue Stanhope.
A very well done adaptation, with some nice surprises.

Set Twenty-eight
1: What is the episode in which Captains Scarlet and Blue are almost flatten by statue made of rock?
A: Inferno ('I hope we don't have to spend another night in the temple!'' Wuss!

2: How fast can a Yellow Fox security tanker go?
A: 110 mph - according to the Haynes Manual
120 mph according to Supermarionation cross-sections (Bleathman) & the Complete Book of CS (Bentley)
I couldn't see it in the earlier CS annuals.
3: The Mysterons’ give this threat "This is the voice of the Mysterons. We know that you can hear us, Earthmen. We will continue to take our revenge against your defenceless planet. Our next act of retaliation will be to destroy the nuclear facility of Juarez in the Sahara desert. It will cause the ultimate destruction in your planet and it will be inevitable. Hear us, Earthmen… The nuclear facility of Juarez will be destroyed." in which story? And who wrote it?
A: Automaton - Lee Homer.

Answers for Set Twenty-seven
1:After being killed Captain Scarlet is flown back to Cloudbase by Captain Blue in a Spectrum Helicopter, in which episode?
.....Expo 2068.
Interesting enough this is the only time see him being transported back to Cloudbase dead.
2: What is the length and wingspan of a Spectrum Passenger Jet?
.....Length, 78 feet and Wingspan 37 feet.
At least that is the specifications in Graham Bleathman’s cross-sections book, but as I’ve noted before, there is a bit of contradictory information about Spectrum.
Hmmm One way to keep spies from finding out too much?
3: In this story Scarlet finds himself being puppet in our universe and his life was just a TV show. Which story is it and who wrote it?
......Back to Basics. By Hazel Kohler.
I certainly enjoyed reading this story, all her stories have been good ones.

Just like one of the TV episodes, lots of action, a bit of mystery and mayhem and of cause Scarlet winning in the end.

Flight 104.
2: On what side (left or right) does the Driver sit on in the Maximum Security Vehicle?
Haynes Manual says 'starboard' - which is the right-hand side, looking forward. The cut-away picture in the 1968 annual (which is small) appears to show a 'driver's compartment' on what would be the left hand side, looking forward. Take your pick!
3: Scarlet and Lieutenant Green find themselves on the island of Haiti and fall victim to a voodoo sect in which story and who wrote it?
The Walking Dead, by Chris Bishop - a Halloween Challenge story!
