I wonder if any of you know that The Royal Guardsmen, Snoopy Christmas is only one of three (or four, if you count Snoopy for President) songs in the story line. The first one is Snoopy vs The Red Baron, then the Christmas one and then Return of the Red Baron (aka Snoopy vs The Red Baron part 2). I had always wondered about the line “the allied command ignored all of its men and called on Snoopy, to do it again” in Snoopy’s Christmas until I heard Snoopy vs The Red Baron, then it made sense.
There is also another Snoopy song that the ‘Guardsmen’ did The Smallest Astronaut but Snoopy is not actually mention. You should watch it on youtube (the one with snoopy coin picture).

In Oz the order of records released was definitely Snoopy vs The Red Baron, The Return of the Red Baron then Snoopy's Christmas. All three records were a success in Oz (however Snoopy for President barely charted).
The surprising bit was how successful Snoopy vs The Red Baron was, considering that every time the song line 'the bloody Red Baron' was sung the word 'bloody' was bleeped out on the radio, as it was considered a swear word in those days. I'm not making that up BTW.
When my father bought the record, of course we got to the hear the song - swear word and all - which bothered my mother. After a while it didn't seem to matter.
