Thunderbirds 1965 - New official episodes!!!
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Have you seen the new Kickstarter project from Stephen Lariviere, the guy behind the "Filmed in Supermarionation" documentary? Well, with support with ITV, Sylvia Anderson and Gerry Anderson Estate, and for the 50th Anniversary of "Thunderbirds", a new episode of the classic series will be created, using audio track from one of the original audio adventures: "The Abominable Snowman". And if they should stretch the goals and get more money from the Kickstarter project, they'll also make "Introducing Thunderbirds" and "The Stately Home Robberies".
Upon writing these lines, the project has already reached 67,00 GBP out of the 75,000 needed for the first episode - and that in only a handufl of days! They still have 28 days in front of them to reach that 75,000 goal and, hopefully, stretch it!
Excited like me? Interested to FINALLY see these episodes with pictures as well as sound? You can do like me and make a pledge to help the Kickstarter Project! No amount is too small!
Go to the following page for more information and to make your pledge: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/15 ... s-recordin
And who knows, if there is a big enough response, perhaps they'll consider Captain Scarlet Audio adventures for "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons" 50th anniversary?! One can always dream and hope!

First goal has been achieved by Kickstarter, and JUST only after FOUR DAYS!!! And YES, we will have a new episode entitled "The Abominable Snowman" to add to our collection of Thunderbirds episode!
Now the new goal is 120,000 GBP, for the creation of the second episode: the Thunderbirds prequel, based on the "Introducing Thunderbirds" audio adventure.
For more details, see this page:

Matt, I read your comment and decided to add "Official" to the title. Maybe that'll help people understand it better!
People, back this up! This could be your chance to own THREE new, CLASSIC Thunderbirds episodes, 50 years after all the others!

Now the second goal is growing near, with nearly 100,000 GBP... 20,000 to go, and we'll have our second episode!
Come on, people! Let's get together on this one. Don't you want to see those new episodes?! Are you not curious to see what they will be able to come up with, using those audio adventures?!
I know I am!

Maybe you have a long-lost relative that you forgot all about and who might leave his/her fortune to you? That'll might do just as well...

100,000£ and counting. We're still a little bit away from the 120,000 required for the second episode, though! Let's see if we'll reach it this week-end!

Now with nearly 124,000 £ accumulated, Stephen Lariviere's project is set for the second stretch goal. 195,000£ are needed, in order to produce the THREE Thunderbirds audio adventures into 30 minutes long episode each!
You want to get these episodes for your collection? Here's your chance for it, by becoming a sponsor of this exciting project! There is no small amount! Lots of goodies are offered depending of your pledge. And with a pledge 15£ or more, you can reserve your own copy of the DVD or Blu-ray, whatever you prefer! (Other pledges of 15 £ are available as well, which doesn't concern the DVD, so you can chose according to what you want).
Tell your friends, tell your family, tell everyone!

Makes me start feeling a little like that 8-9 year old back in 1993-94 when Thunderbirdsmania gripped. When I had my Tracy Island set (the real one not the Blue Peter mockup) and my figures (I've just lost my precious Virgil figure with wrong colour sash)...
...ahem.

For those who are hoping to get these episodes from elsewhere after the campaign is through, it's more than probable, at this moment, that they would be exclusive to this campaign...
From Stephen Lariviere, on the Kickstarter website:
To clarify about Kickstarter exclusivity - as we've said previously - all the packages we supply here are exclusive to Kickstarter (though, it's feasible that at sometime in the future someone else might licence the mini-albums to do another release). But in the main, all our packages are KS exclusive.
The episodes are, for the moment, Kickstarter Exclusive too - bar screenings that will occur to celebrate the anniversary. However, as we have said before, it is our hope that these episodes will become part of the canon of Thunderbirds and be released in other forms in the future. We stress that there are no plans right now - but obviously, we would welcome the chance for the episodes to enjoy a life beyond a limited KS home entertainment run.
That means that in order to be sure to get these episodes you would need to participate to the campaign.
If you want to make sure you will not miss out on this offer and get your own DVD or blu-ray of the episodes (either 2 or 3, at this point, it's still unsure), the minimum amount to give for either is as follow:
- DVD: 20 £
- Blu-ray: 30 £
However, I, like Stephen, am hopeful that they would be available elsewhere later on, so let's cross our fingers for that

If there are not too many people withdrawing their pledge - that does happen! - we WILL have our three new episodes!
And I will use other immortal words, this time, from Captain Ochre:
YIPPPPEEEE!!!
Okay, okay, not the same show... but hey, this a mainly a Captain Scarlet forum here

And I do share Animikii's hope: maybe one day they'll do the same for Captain Scarlet!

It looks like, even if some people withdraw or lower down their pledge a bit, we'll be well enough over the 195 000 mark, and we will indeed have our three episodes:
- The Abominable Snowman;
- Introducing Thunderbirds;
- The Stately Home Robberies.
Delivery is stated to be in December... that is, if there isn't any delay. With an ambitious project like this, especially considering that we'll end un with THREE episodes, delays can be expected (and forgiven, should that happen). But wouldn't it be a wonderful Christmas gift if the DVD or blu-ray should indeed be in time for December?
