Catching up

I've been reviewing a few old threads recently and have been struck by the lack of posts on the fanfic part of this site. Now, we know that fanfic doesn't make up everything that makes SHQ so wonderful and unique. But it does make up a large part of it.

We all have busy lives , but we put a large part of ourselves out there in posting our stories, for better or worse. We like to think that someone out there is reading what we've put effort into and is either appreciating it, ( or not, as the case may be!) or feels that it warrants some decent feedback.

I think we've been rather remiss in this area of late and maybe that's something we need to address. It doesn't have to be a 'pat on the back ' kind of thing, or a ' this is rubbish' thing. Not that we would!

But maybe we need to get some good dialogue going about what we've written and where we'd like to go with our fiction in the future ( if we see a future).

No one wants to feel they've cast their creative outpourings into an abyss and I know we used to be so good at feedback on this site, so maybe we need to get back to that.

Very true - there has been some excellent fiction recently - OCS and NCS. It is a shame that many of us seem to have had Real Life to contend with recently and consequently less time to dally with our heroes.
Let's hope 2015 brings us more examples of the great fiction we've enjoyed in the past.
