What kind of Scarlet story would you most like to see?
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Then Mary Rudy came along with "Moonlight Rhapsody" and "Good Knight, Dear Lady," and that sealed it.

The speculation DEFINITELY takes its source into the first episode of the series, when Destiny is called upon by Doctor Fawn (in sickbay?) to identify the body retrieved from the Car-Vu as Captain Scarlet (or was he already alive at the moment, it is not that clear...)
The Scarlet/Rhapsody idea was Mary's, and I just found it could be fun to continue with that... In any case, Rhapsody has been a major player in some official or semi official sources. Her biography is one of the most detailed (even if it's probably THE MOST confusing of all), she plays a big part in "THE ANGELS" comic strips (seems the storyline officially starts with her recruitment), she's a proeminent characters in two of the three novels written by John Theydon (in the first one, she seems close enough to Scarlet) and has a story for herself in the graphic novel like album, "The Angels" - which contains two stories (and in hers, having suffered a broken leg, she is transported out of the jungle into the arms of Captain Scarlet...)
It seems that the idea appealed to other writers as well, considering the amount of fanfic that have depicted them as a couple!

Strangely enough, I found, in the last years, a few websites which listed them as 'official couple'. Whether the fanfic or the other sources I listed above are responsible of this remains a mystery!

Well, she probably knows that Captain Blue is already taken, because he and Symphony are obvious enough for my four year old to pick up on. If she can work it out, I'm sure the other Angels can.
On the other hand, she seemed worried about Captain Scarlet, when he started detecting those Mysteron Angels, so maybe it's more than that. He also forgot all about Captain Blue when they were attacked, but that was said already, wasn't it?

It all seemed to be a collaborative effort in many ways, so all these years later, it's very hard to know who was responsible for dreaming up these things and if any of it was what Gerry and Sylvia Anderson had intended ( assuming they'd thought about it in such depth, of course!
