I'm used to it in my line of work! At uni me and my classmates are forever going out on adventures, mind you I am due an appointment with a hairdresser as mine is down to my waist again and the layers have dropped out!

Oh, my dear girl - do not delay any longer! That sounds perfectly frightful. Adventures are all well and good, and I recommend that every one has one, now and again, but please, there is no excuse to let your standards slip. Elegance, Charm and Deadly Danger are my watchwords. And elegance always comes first...

My dear girl, one should always strive to look elegant whatever one is wearing. I always do, and the dear Angels on Cloudbase follow my example, I am glad to say. Although, entre-nous, I have had to have a quiet word with Destiny from time to time; one simply does not wear orange and green check trouser suits in Monte Carlo!
It is a shame the younger generation of Angels on Skybase lack the backbone to remain feminine as well as deadly. I fear it is a dying art.

My dear Lady P, I must agree that the new generation of Angels show a lamentable lack of imagination in their hairstyles. Most have adopted what seems to be a universally popular "Shaggy Lop" look - a bit like the "Farrah Fawcett" or "Jennifer Aniston" of previous generations. Perhaps this is the only style the Skybase hairdresser is able to produce. Destiny must go elsewhere, or maybe she cuts it herself - she mostly has it scraped back in the style commonly known as "Council House Facelift."

Although the younger generation are clearly more casual in their approach to fashion, I agree that they could certainly take tips from the original Angels, who never let action and duty get in the way of a decent hairstyle. :angel)

If I remember rightly NCS Rhapsody was based on Cameron Diaz's from her Charlie's Angels days.

They do lack imagination, mind you NCS feels darker than OS and more modern military if you get what I mean.

I think I know what you means. The new Angels are like proper service-women, they don't worry so much about hair and stuff, because they're too busy staying alive and stuff.

Exactly. You even see NCS Rhapsody tinkering with her plane. The new angels are miminalists. Their flight suits are still feminine as are their uniforms but they seem more industrialised than the OS angels.

I don't know about that one. So I'll add my two-cents!

In my book, the original Angels would be rather 'industrialised', if what you mean is that they readily make use of electronics and mechanics, and seem to be at ease with them.

Okay, I will admit: we don't actually SEE them in the series, doing as much as tinkering with planes. That would certainly have been difficult to show puppets doing that! I can't compare the technologie used for making the show in 1967, and the one used for 2005. However, the OFFICIAL backgrounds, created by Century 21 - and which was related to the series production - clearly state that at least TWO of the Angels are technologically savvy.

Harmony took courses in aerodynamics, physics, and electro-mechanics. She had the ambition of flying a jet-engined aircraft all alone around the world, and in order to do that, rebuilt an old second-hand plane to her personal requirement. Failing the first time, she did it again, and this time, had to land her plane on the deck of a burning tanker to save three men trapped there. Since her plane would have been too heavy with the three men, she had to stripped the fuselage to the bare essentials to bring them to safety.

Melody was passionate about fast motorbikes and fast cars, and became a professional motor-racing driver. She became a test pilot (as Captain Blue was), for the WAAF. It was during a test that her plane crash on an island in the Pacific. Staying there for many months, she scratch-built a plane with the remains of her crashed jet, and returned to civilisation after one year.

We can argue that the backgrounds created by Century 21 for the characters might not be official - but they actually are, despite all the conflictual information you might find in them (Rhapsody's backgrounds is terribly confusing and seemed to have been written for someone suffering from a split personality problem :shock:

). These information are as official as those created for the NCS characters, way back when there was an official site for the series (the Century 21 magazines could be considered as the official equivalent of a 'website', at the time). It's in those same magazines that we learn that Scarlet was a soldier in the WAAf, what is his birthday's date, that Colonel White was an admiral in the World Army, etc...

That doesn't remove anything of the NCS Angels being as good at tinkering with mechanics, and such (I can only remember Rhapsody doing that from the series, please correct me if I'm wrong), but I'm pretty sure that Original Harmony and Melody would be able to give her a good competition in that field! :-;)

P.S.: Did you know about Melody's past as a racing driver, Intentisy? As a race-car fan, I think you might find this interesting!

But I have always understood women to be excellent at multi-tasking. I know I am. So I have changed my avatar photograph in celebration of my promotion to Lieutenant but also to show that one can be chic and stylish while busy 'staying alive and stuff'. I do hope I have done it correctly, only Parker's not here at the moment to do it for me and I firmly believe that it is good for a girl to demonstrate her independence, now and again.
