Hello again people, and welcome to a new updates report!

This week, we have a new story in our FAN FICTION to offer you. One by none other than our own Marion Woods. This is a story that, for those of us in the know, we have been waiting for a long time!

WILD JUSTICE, by Marion Woods. The remergence of an old adversary makes Captain Blue wonder who he can trust and causes headaches - of every kind - for his Spectrum colleagues. Story presented for the website's 10th anniversary. ff 465

And if I may say so myself:

Thank you very much, Marion! This story was a WONDERFUL read! I know how hard you work on that one, and it was worth every effort you made. The characters are well-defined, and the scenes wo well-written. You could almost feel the pain of the heroes (yes, plural!) both physical and psychological. The vilains must be amongst the most... vilainous I have read about in a long time.

Having had the considerable pleasure of beta-reading this one, I can definitely second Chris's remarks. And I will never be able to hear Scott MacKenzie's "San Francisco" in the same way again...

I am so glad you enjoyed the story, which really did take some time to fall into place. Perhaps it was always meant to be a 10th anniversary offering?

I can't thank all of the Scarletinis enough for putting up with my constantly going on about how 'it is almost finished' over the past few years.

We don't care how long it took you, we are just delighted that you got it finished, for your sake, and for ours - so we could finally enjoy it!
This for me, is one of your best, a complex thriller that has twists and turns, and always aided and abetted by your crisp, clever dialogue and deft characterization.
Marion, well, well done. I know how much you sweated and agonized over this, but the result is totally worth waiting for. O-beer-O

I concur with all previous posts !

It's taken me a little time to finish this one, as I have been away on holiday and couldn't take it with me, alas. It was well worth the wait, though !

Extemely well-plotted, Marion, complex and sophisticated with what literary reviews would probably call "a gritty realism". This one has moved from a Captain Scarlet sci-fi fanfic to a very deftly crafted thriller, combining world politics with very personal events.

I particularly liked the harder edge to Captain Blue. He displayed a degree of ruthlessness I wouldn't have expected from him, but it's the mark of a such a good writer that even having written so much about a favourite character, you can still surprise the reader by showing us yet another complex layer of his personality.

I am really pleased that you have enjoyed reading 'Wild Justice'. It took me so long that I wasn't sure I had finally managed to write the story I had in my head and, in all honesty, it changed considerably from the initial concept I imagined, although the basic storyline remained the same.

Praise from the illustrious denizens of the Captain Scarlet community is praise indeed. I shall bask in the reviews for some time...
