10th anniversary Fic
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
The idea now is one fic, but 10 parts each working as a stand alone fic. I've nearly finished three parts of it, and I have a fourth planned, but I'm a bit stuck after that, so I'm hoping people will offer prompts and I will see if I can coax my muse into writing them.
The fic focuses on where people are and what they're doing on the day the Terrorism War is declared. It's New Captain Scarlet, and I currently have bits written/planned for Rhapsody Angel, Captain Orchre, Melody Angel and Scarlet (I know my brain is weird).
The only person I won't write is Destiny. Sorry, I don't like her. I really want to do something with Blue, but can't come up with the right situation, so suggestions on that really welcome. Aside from that, Prompt away people.

Either way, there is a potential scenario around concerns about the safety of family members?
Failing that, as I seem to remember Blue-Lite was called 'gung-ho' maybe excitement at the prospect of action?

If I'm stern with them, they run away and hide.

Because everything I've seen re NCS doesn't date the world terrorist wars - indeed, if you tnink that's what the world is engaged in at present, it would certainly give them a longevityy of a hundred plus years.
If that's the case, the Spectrum characters wouldn't have been born at the start of it. Of course, if you see it differently ( as a kind of World War 3 scenario), then it could have started later and escalated quickly. I suppose the characters could be whatever age you choose, depending on the timeline you pick.
Sounds like an interesting idea for a series of stories, though. I'm disappointed you don't want to tackle Dismal D -

My main idea is that things countinue as they are for what is effectively our generation (Scarlet's parent generation (which is a little scary in it's self)). The war's going on, but it's distant from day to day living, kinda a phoney war.
Then suddenly something happens to change all that (I'm currently thinking Berklin breaks away from Russia). For various reasons the governments can't allow this to happen, so they declare war on Berklin, knowning that the Berklin have made alliances with most of the major terror organisations to attack thier countries at home if they do so. Things kinda then errupt to a multi-fronted war, unlike anything that's ever being fought before.
the bit's I've written so far only give one character a definate age (Captain Orchre is 22), but I see them all in thier early twenties, so the age range most likely to die in war.
So kinda of World War 3, but after a long period of cold war.
I may end up writing Destiny (my muse seems to want to do all the other angels), but I don't want one that focuses on her. As this is pre Spectrum, many of the characters haven't met so...

I generally find that despite my best efforts to marshal my characters down a particular path, they are very adept at showing me this is entirely the wrong path for them and so, the story ends up rather differently to what I intended it to be. Sometimes characters write themselves and I suppose the only way to justify it is to say they must have been borne from subconscious, if not conscious thought. So maybe we, as writers, are responsible after all, although I don't always like to acknowledge my digressions!
All this can make it damn difficult in the plotting stakes, though, when you find yourself with an unplanned, although particularly pleasing scene that will utterly destroy what you had already worked out for the next bit....

Co operation was possibly a strong word. I had a nightmare and blue decided he liked that as an idea. It's definately not what I had in mind, but it works so...

It is in 10 parts, covering the whole terrorism war (my muse decided intial idea was too complicated) and I did end up writing one with Destiny.

As sporned two side stories, so I apologise to who ever from the beta reader panel gets it. This year has been good for Captain Scarlet fic for some reason.
