Favorite Anderson action scene
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Stingray's opening credits: Stingray leaping out of the ocean, bursting from the tunnel all to the drumming sound and Commander Shore's "Standby for action...!"
Also the Sidewinder being pulled from the burning put in Thunderbirds' "Pit of Peril", the music was good for the scene.
In Captain Scarlet, quite a few but Scarlet trying to stop the Mysteron agent in his SPV in Fire at Rig 15.

The first incident between Stingray and the Terror Fish, also the chase in the "Plant of Doom" in which Stingray jumps out of the water followed by the Terror Fish.
Also seeing Marineville under attack numerous times.
RIGHT ON!!!

And let's not forget about the "Action Stations" and "Launch Stations" sequences, with the high-pitched, staccato drum beats emanating from the speakers.
IMHO, Stingray's launch sequences and "Battle Station" procedures are the best of all of them, combined!!

The launch sequences in most of Gerry Anderson's series were great, but Stingray's were amongst the best.
As you said the staccato drum beats were great and added to the scenes.
I can remember having the toy of the base (who's name I know but can't spell for the live of me), and you use to push the tower town etc and the missles come up etc. Shame the toy didn't have any sound effects like the drum beats etc cuz that would have been great.

Matt Crowther wrote:Second to the Stingray launch sequence I would say was the Thunderbird 2 launch sequence. Yes, Thunderbird 1 had the swimming pool but T2 had the pod selection, hangar door up, trees and the launch pad. Of course, that sweeping Barry Gray music. It was right on...as they say.
Totally agree, Thunderbird 2's launch sequence had more to it than Thunderbirds 1 and 3.
The pod selection part was great, and I did like the idea in "Terror In New York City" that as well as the palm trees moving down to allow the wing span of TB2 to get through that fire exstinguers(sp) appeared.
Another action sequence I enjoyed was the rescue of Lady P in "Perils of Penelope". Just the way Gordon comes along, puts his finger to his mouth to tell Lady P to keep stum, and how they go the puppets to have a exchange of gun fire until Gordon either got lucky or is a good shot and knocked the gun out of the other guy.
Another particular favourite from "Thunderbirds" is the scenes when "Thunderbird 1" goes after Ned Cook in "Terror In New City" - the high camera shot of "Thunderbird !" over Ned Cook's van and then the music makes that scene one that stands out.
The music is great, and I'm glad they included it on the 2nd soundtrack.

Oh, yes the brilliant "World Exclusive Foiled"...gets the pulse racing I find. Like in "Terror in the Sky" when Virgil's driving the carts under Fireflash. The beads of sweat...it's so good for something that was a kids show.

Oh yeh, the looks they gave each. Lady P was like "My Hero!!!"
Matt Crowther wrote:Thunderbirds Are Go, the movie, had two scenes that stand out: one where Zero-X's MEV is under attack
The MEV was under attack was a great sequence, and the whole sequence with the rescue at the end was good.
Also, am I right in thinking when Scott stopped the Hood in Zero X (ie took of Grants mask) was the first time Scott or any member of International Rescue had actually met the Hood face to face, as in the series I don't think they ever knew who he was or met him face to face (apart from Brains and Tin Tin in "Desperate Intruder")

I think you meant the Hydromic Missiles.

(I really envy all of you living across the pond, you seemed to always have the coolest toys around!)

Yeah that's right, it sure was an epic moment in Thunderbirds history.
I've always assumed the hood died when his helicopter was shot down later on in that scene (because he doesn't appear in TB's second series) but I've recently read that Black Phatom ( I think it is) in TB6 is meant to be the hood as well.
Surely he must die at the end of that firefight. Scott and Virgil basically blew the place to kingdom come!
