Something different

If you were in Spectrum and were an Angel pilot, what would your Angel name be?
Firgured this would be a harmless bit of fun.

But I did wonder if these would do for series characters:
Scarlet as Recovery Angel
Blue as Affability Angel
Ochre as Comical Angel
Magenta as Pixelated Angel
Grey as Aquatic Angel…
Any suggestions of your own?

In a 1960s kind of 21st Century world.

Nice one, Lady P, but I do tend to notice that most of the Angel names end in a "y" sound...
Is this true? I'm just saying...

At least, I think so.

SymphonIE
HarmonIE
RhapsodIE
MelodIE
...
And
DestinÉE (because Destinie doesn't exist in French)
In Japanese, they really didn't follow much of the established canon:
Symphony (kept her own name)
Fantasy (Rhapsody

Carol (Melody. Well... somehow related to 'music')
Sally (Harmony. Uh...)
Concerto (Destiny. Musical, anyway)
If there would be other Angels, I would figure they would use either musical and classical names.
By the way, Lady P... I love "Elegance Angel"

Within fandom, you have those who stick to 'Y' names - which would give such variant as "Verity", "Charity"... and you can add the Japanese "Fantasy" into that lot...
And you have those who would prefer the musical-theme names, notwithstanding the fact that they do not end in 'Y'. Like "Sonata", "Concerto" (yep! Again one of the Japanese names!), "Serenade" and so forth.
Oh, I did find another musical name ending with 'Y' - "Threnody". But do you really see our Destiny with that name?

I have used both other musical terms and 'classical names' for additional Angels in my stories.
In one of the comics/annual stories there is a picture of 2 Angels getting ready to launch and one of them is called 'Modesty'. It doesn't look like Melody, so it might not be a mis-print. It could be used to support the suggestion that there are more Angels than we see on the show, which would make some sense, as 5 is a very odd number to deal with rotas and duty shifts etc.
I used this in my story 'Natural Selection':
In addition, there are six potential colour captains under consideration: Blue, Grey, Purple, Red, Violet and Yellow; and – until today - six defence squadron pilots: Destiny, Harmony, Melody, Modesty, Rhapsody and Symphony.”
“What happened today?” Stephens asked.
“We discovered that Modesty has managed to get pregnant.”
Despite himself, Conrad gave a snort of laughter. “How careless of her,” he said, meeting White’s exasperated glance with a shrug.
“Modesty is a lady?” Stephens asked, looking bewildered.
“Not much of a one, it seems,” Conrad muttered.

I also remember that in the run up to the launch of NCS when a sultry promotional picture of (Dismal) Destiny was published - and no one was sure which Angel it was meant to be - that she acquired the nickname 'Nymphony'. Strange how apt that turned out to be.

Four of these new pilots will have musical name, while the fifth - like Destiny - will carry a classic name.

It might well be that each subsequent Angel squadron would have codenames with a theme, but not necessarily the same theme as the original Angels - after all, like colours, musical terms are a relatively finite resources. I can't really see a 'Hip-Hop Angel' or 'Reggae Angel' - can you?

The name "Modesty" came from the Angels comic strip in Lady Penelope, I think.
