Idea for the 2009 Hallowe'en Challenge and a question

Are there any H.P. Lovecraft/Cthulhu fans on here? Just want to know how much exposition I need to add.

As a rule though I tend to err on the side of less is more with exposition; otherwise t can weigh down the narrative and detract from the CS aspect (which is what we're in it for).
Sounds a really intriguing premise, good luck.

Sage makes a good point with "less is more." Another method you can use is to give your exposition in a synopsis, in the form of a sidebar or author's notes so that those more knowledgeable readers will not have to wade through the exposition in the body of the story.

I think you could adequately explain what someone might need to know without going into too much detail.

(Well, until you ask one of us to beta-read it for you...

Good luck with your plotting!

Mine is approximately 30 pages long right now - and not finished yet.
Halloween is still far enough - you might make it in time

Unfortunately, I am very typical of figure customisers. We are extremely vain, but also incredibly self-critical of our own work. If I feel that something isn't going quite how I want, it doesn't take much for depression to set in and then it gets abandoned.
I am going to make a fresh stab at both tomorrow

Kambei, I hear you...the same goes for fan-fic authors. If I had a pound/dollar/euro for all the hand-wringing and tears I've shed over writing and being critical of my stuff, I'd be as rich as J.K Rowling...
Hang in there...
