Mysterons and human personality?
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force

Having just been assisting the colonel to prepare the updated biography for Captain Black, the subject of personality before and after Mysteronisation got me thinking again.
Conrad Turner's personality is described in the 1968 annual as 'harsh' and 'reclusive', due to his difficult childhood. He does reveal an ambition to work for 'World Peace' (in a statement that sounds rather like something a Miss World contestant might utter

Captain Black, Mysteron Agent ('now alien' as the annual says) needs neither 'food or sleep and is not susceptible to the elements'. He receives his orders from Mars and 'executes them with precision, skill and swiftness'.
What made me wonder was why he says: The Mysterons too have compassion . It isn't as if he was shown to be very compassionate before he was Mysteronised.
Maybe, as we see in NCS with 'Astrid Winters' - there are 2 schools of Mysteron thought at work, and on that day - luckily for Symphony - the 'nice' Mysterons had control of Captain Black? Similarly the occaisons when he merely ties up the flight crew of 'Flight 104' rather than kill them - after all, he/the Mysterons who control him has thought nothing of destroying entire plane loads of people before this (DT19, for example).
Just a thought...
