Wanted: Mysteron Light Phaser

Another e-mail received from someone, this one looking for a specific toy. Maybe, like the other, someone might be of help here?

Do you have any idea where I can get a Mysteron Light Phaser that you mention in your Merchandising page on your web-site. My little boy is a huge fan of the original series and it's his birthday soon which is all Captain Scarlett themed and it would make a great party trick for his friends.I've trawled through so many internet sites already I'm beginning to see green rings anyway! And I noticed the one on your site seems to be the one you speak through, (which is what I really want) although I've seen the Mysteron Light Phaser described elsewhere as having recorded Mysteron messages on instead. Is this a different thing?

Sadly not, but I have to say that:
I want one too!!!!!
Assuming that Gail is British, sadly, it's hard to get merchandise for the original series now. They only tend to sell it when the BBC is showing the series. I think that eBay is the best bet here, unless Gail lives near a Forbidden Planet or similar Cult retailer.

If she is, there are stores in major cities, with details on their website, http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk. There is not a lot on the website, and sadly, their main mail order site (http://www.forbiddenplanet.com) is not working properly at the moment, but there is generally quite a few Anderson items in stores - even one as small as Glasgow's (my local one)!

There IS a Phaser on sale on eBay at the moment, item http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=65244&item=5959447621&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW, but it doesn't look like the one on your site, Chris. It is much more like the one that Gail describes in her email, with the preprogrammed voices. If she wants it though, there is only three days left, and the starting bid is £2.99. It is a UK bidder.
