WANTED: Authors from old fanzines
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
The zine lasted three issues in all. And I am fortunate to have those three issues (thanks Hazel for providing the one I didn't have until recently!)
But I would like to get in touch with the authors who provided the stories in this zine. Most particularly the authors of the Captain Scarlet stories. I would like to ask them if they would be interested in seeing their stories posted on the Spectrum HQ site, and so sharing their stories with all the fans who have not been fortunate enough to get hold of the 21st Century Fiction zine.
The site already has Mary J. Rudy's "Moonlight Rhapsody", that she wrote for Issue 3 (Mary also provided all of her other fan fic for this site). But I don't know how to get hold of the other authors. So I'm making a call through this forum to try to find them. Either they will read these lines - or maybe someone they know will.
Those writers I'm trying to find are:
- Pam Brown (author of "Scarlet's woman" , Issue 1, and "Loving the alien", Issue 3)
- John A. Mariani (author of "The Last Captain Scarlet story", Issue 1)
- Keith Martin (author of HQ Hijack, Issue 3)
- Colin Taylor (author of the long story "Crisis" in Issue 2)
Please contact me through e-mail at spectrum_hq@hotmail.com. If you know the authors, tell them I'm looking for them. If you are one of the author - well, just write me a line, either you want to have your story - or stories - published or not.

I believe that Pam Brown is a friend of Doc Denim's
Doc Denim responds: Guilty as charged! (and pleased to be able to say so)
Message relayed, awaiting response...

The autors are as followed:
Hilary Perry, who wrote "Resurrection".
Lee C. Highway, who wrote "Working Relationship".
With a little luck, I may be able to find Lee C. Highway. But any information is welcomed!
Thanks to everyone for trying.
Chris
P.S.: Shaqui, thanks for the information you provided. We'll look into it.

Thanks to Kathy Bleathman for her help in locating Hilary Perry.
"Resurrection" will be posted on the website at some point during the following weeks.

The story "Scarlet's Woman", by Pam Brown, which first appeared in 21st Century Fiction has just been posted on Spectrum Headquarters. To be followed in a few days by "Loving the Alien". Sadly, those are the only stories by Pam that I have at the moment. I don't have other stories that had been written under the name 'Rennells'. If someone can provide with those stories - in whatever format, I would be graceful.
Also to be posted during the "Halloween Challenge" - to show you that the subject doesn't have to be specific to Halloween (wonderfully weird or horrific will do very well) - is the story by Hilary Perry, "Resurrection". Thanks to Hilary to allow this site to publish her story online.
We are still trying to locate Lee C. Highway (the last efforts weren't conclusive), John A. Mariani, Keith Martin and Colin Taylor. IF anyone can help us in reaching them, please contact the webmaster of this site through a post, PM or e-mail (spectrum_hq@hotmail.com). We really want to get in touch with these people.
Also to add on the list of author to find:
Jack Heston, who wrote, amongst other stories, "Mandalay" (for the fanzine Syndicated Images), and "The Final Illusion". There might be other stories by Jack, but those are the only ones I have.
If you have other authors to suggest to add to this list - who had written Captain Scarlet stories in the past in fanzines - or elsewhere, who knows, maybe fansites which might have disappeared?), please feel free to mention them or contact me.

http://www.dream-craft.com/redalert/home1.htm The Red Alert zine is defunct (shame), but the site is still active, and it's owned by the same people who published Syndicated Images.

Sorry for necro-posting, but I've just noticed that Colin Taylor is a member of the Fanderson Yahoo group. Did you manage to get in touch with him, or would you like me to drop him a line via the group?

I think Colin Taylor is already a member here, by the username of "Colin," but contact him anyway as the website link Colin has in his profile http://cmtaylor.members.beeb.net/ is no longer valid.
Chris - Since we have already found some of these authors perhaps you'd like to start a new thread listing the names we still haven't managed to contact? Then we can delete this one.

We might also consider closing it, but if we keep it open, we might have contact from these people eventually... and they might have something to offer us, who knows? Them - or someone else entirely.
I would say - keep the topic alive and open.

Mary had rightly stated in an earlier post that this topic is over two years old, and in the meantime, we have taken the liberty of including your wonderful story "Crisis" - which had appeared long ago in the pages of 21rst Century Fiction. You might have found it already, with a note acknowledging where it was coming from and also addressing you. If not, check this page:
http://www.spectrum-headquarters.com/fanfic/crisis.htm
By posting this story, we hoped to attract your attention, so that you will eventually contact us. We did the same with other writers as well (Jack Heston and Mike Adamson come to mind - and they had also made contact we us) and we are pleased to now see, not only appear, but becoming a member of our forum!
So I will welcome you to our forum, and will hope that you will continue to interact and have some fun with us here!
