Q about transplants/organ donation

It's seen as a point in favour of the theory that he wasn't actually killed on Mars, just 'taken over'.by the aliens. Well, it is by me, anyway

I was thinking (again!), if someone removed nearly all of Scarlet's blood, how long would it take for him to recover?
Have a look at this story: http://spectrum-headquarters.com/fanfic/what_dreams_may_come.htm

Right, more ponderings, some of us presume that retrometabolism can be passed through blood, what would happene if someone accidentally got his blood in them, like Scarlet could be injured and the person he is helping is injured and their blood mixes.

Whatever happens in the instance that Scarlet's blood becomes mixed with someone else's, either in him or in another body, and whether it happens by design or by accident, the result will be the same.
IF retrometabolism is carried in his blood - which I personally doubt, but which is not something that can be proven either way - then the effect it has on a non-Mysteronised being might, or might not, be detrimental or advantageous, as the author/viewer/fan/ interested party wishes.

But that doesn't mean it makes for a bad story. Anything that you may write, as long as it is well written, well explained, and does appear probable in view of your theory would make for an interesting read. That is, as long as something does happen in the story, and this is not some experiment happening 'just for the sake of it'. You still have to find a good plot that will be the 'drive' of your story. I would suggest to be original. If your opinion varies from what has been already written (What Dreams may Come and Heartless each deals with blood transfusion and organ transfer in their own fashions) you can certainly go for it. Various points of view are always interesting to read.

But what about an evolutionary change? Could it be that Scarlet isn't remaining the exact same every time his retrometabolism kicks in? What if his cells are mutating and becoming interchangeable or something along those lines? What if the same change is occurring in the others, just several million years behind?

I'm not sure I quite understand what you mean, but I do think this is going very deep now, and that there might not be a possibility for any of us to answer that - or these - last question(s).
Is that that you have a specific theory? Again, if you have, write it down and let us know! Don't ask us, tell us!

Beside, it looks like we're going way out of the subject in this thread. Maybe we can move on?

Would Scarlet's blood even survive being stored, being different and all?

As such, I think that the blood could be stored at the very least as long as any ordinary human blood. As for the rest, it's all but hypothetical theories.
