Yeah so he wouldn't have to work with him!! Ha ha, and didn't Gerry have a thing or two to say to the puppets after filming everyday, something like behave or something?

I once read....or heard somewhere, that at the end of Stingray's daily shooting, Troy & Phones would be hung up together and Marina would be a few feet away. But, Troy & Marina would always end up next to each other, when they returned in the morning!!

The SAME thing also happened during production of Thunderbirds. Virgil & Penelope, and also Alan & Tin Tin would all be next to each other.......even though they were all seperated, the night before!!

("Puppet Matchmaker Elves", perhaps??)

Yeah and definately on the Stngray sets, imagine working with that sumarine, filming the launch sequence and using the controls to lower the Control tower.

They seemed that way to me too when I first saw the series.

When I later watched the series on DVD I saw the underwater scenes quite differently.

At one point in my life I kept tropical fish (I had 3 tanks) and this time around I recognised many of the species used in Stingray. So watching the series again I had a very clear idea of the true scale of all the models, underwater sets etc. Those fish are very small!

Indeed! Most of the credit goes to Derek Meddings and his crew!

It's also fun to see what kind of things they can produce from ordinary household objects;

Toothpaste caps
shaving cream cans
Model railroad kits
Citrus juicers

....To name a few!

(The rotating "Eddy Damper" at the rear of Stingray, was simply a transparent bathtub faucet handle!) :wink:

Who on this board has any information about the details of the uniforms World Aquanaut Security Patrol personnel like Troy Tempest, Samuel Shore, his daughter Atlanta Shore, John Fisher, and George Lee "Phones" Sheridan wear, which Bradley Holden and Seymour Griffiths once wore?

Not the characters themselves, mind you--the UNIFORMS.
