silliest paraphenalia you have found and/or bought

I've been scanning ebay daily looking at all the CS stuff. Most of it is the same thing over and over again, but then every so often is an item that really stands out (to me). And, admittedly, I find these odd items very tempting.
Books, tapes, dvds, and action figures are all pretty run of the mill.
I thought my talking doll was silly, but somehow i had to have it.
yesterday i found something even sillier, and again had to have it.
a talking....... patrol car.

so, fess up everyone! what is the silliest piece of CS paraphenalia you have ever bought?

or, if you were strong enough to resist, ever found?

I bought a Saloon Car torch, which projects Mysteron rings from its rear end. Stylish, eh?

I was given a Captain Scarlet torch - it's a small plastic figure of Scarlet with the torch light coming out of the top of his hat!

Actually it's been quite handy, and not only as a torch. I keep it in my car where it's small enough for my rather cramped glove compartment.

A few times I've dropped items onto the floor of the passenger side of the car - just out of reach. As Scarlet is made of hard plastic and his feet are fixed I've been able to use him as an 'extension arm' so to speak, with his boots hooking around the dropped item. Then I just pull it over to where I can reach it. :wink:

I'll bet the makers never though of that use when they designed him! :grin:

I think you get points for creative use of a silly item!

my talking CS doll rides with me in the car, he will bend at the waist but only slightly at the knees, bet i could use him in a similar fashion. thanks for the idea!

I remember someone giving me a custom Angels T-shirt saying,

I want to be Angel, they get the best guys!!

Shame it doesn't fit anymore but I certainly am not getting rid of it because it holds meaning!!

don't know if it is still there, but someone was selling a pict of Captain Black's head w/out eyes.

kinda freaky.

maybe you'd want the hand if you are trying to assemble your own puppet?

there was a Scarlet puppet minus hands, minus hair, minus eyes.

Casts of the puppets' heads turn up every so often - mostly without eyes and hair.
I admit to having one of a certain captain... I did think about knitting him a hat to keep his head warm - but my knitting skills are about as good as my spelling... (thank God for spell checkers!) and I couldn't bring myself to submit him to such humiliation. :wink:

It's not exactly silly, but I paid £1.50 for a very bashed up Angel Interceptor model, missing the nose cone and with half the paint scratched off. Actually, maybe that is silly...

So today I saw an item on ebay, and I honestly don't know what it is.

It says it is a box of Barret Dippers.

the only barrettes i know of are spelled differently and go in hair, and aren't dipped in anything.

could someone clarify this pls?

the tissue box cover made to look like an SPV (sort of) was amusing.

Barrett's are (I think they're still around) a UK confectionery firm. They used to make things like Sherbet Dabs or dips. I suspect - without seeing the actual eBay site - it is something like that - a lollipop that you dip into sherbet.
100% bad for you, but very appealing to the younger palette. :wink:

To clarify Marion's explanation, since Sasha is American: "sherbe(r)t" in the UK isn't a form of frozen dessert; it's candy made from powdered sugar, like Pixy Stix. The "dipper" is a candy stick like a lollipop. Marion described it well, and it's similar to stuff we have here (I've seen them in the dollar store, just don't know the name). The terminology is just different, that's all.
