another way of killing mysterons.

I'd start to worry if the Mysterons replicated Magenta or Ochre... all those practical jokes and flirting with the Angels.... :o
To paraphrase (if that is the right word) an old saying: "one head is better than two".
It's "Two heads are better than one," BTW.
In one of my messages, I had written: "(If you decapitated a Mysteron, the headless body might grow a new head, the isolated head might regenerate a new body, and then) you'd be stuck with TWO Mysteron impostors instead of just one!"
But maybe that could be deliberately used somewhere to bring about the existence of a second Captain Scarlet in order to decoy the Mysterons. I may write a story along those lines.
As for a Captain Magenta likeness, Dead Ringer has described that rather effectively. Thanx, Colonel--and thank YOU as well, Sue Stanhope!

MMK realises that, old boy. MMK said "to paraphrase," and I believe MMK is referring to the fact that the Angels would have their well-manicured hands full with TWICE the usual amount of rubbish from their "boys"!

There might be a nice FF in hydra-headed Mysterons ambling about causing mayhem. Not sure I would want to make it Ochre and Magenta, as they'd have to have been killed to become Mysteronised. And I have killed Magenta off once, already.

And it wouldn't be possible to do that sort of thing in Reunion, either... its not the sort of thing that would happen...

But anyway, it couldn't be Rhapsody or one of the colour coded senior members of Spectrum... not saying who

One of those types of FF's would be nice to read, though.

Hmm a hydra may be fun to play with; Blue would probably have to save the day, with his [fanon] knowledge of mythology and such.
I couldn't bear to kill off Magenta either; he's been through so much angst already he deserves a long happy ever after. Or Ochre, just outright like him too much. Though an Ochre hydra would certainly be aesthetically pleasing.

In another message, I had speculated: "But maybe that could be deliberately used somewhere to bring about the existence of a second Captain Scarlet in order to decoy the Mysterons. I may write a story along those lines."
In this message, I hereby propose that even if it develops that Mysteron likenesses CANNOT grow back severed sections of their bodies, then any severed body parts pressed against the areas they came from, and then held there, would most likely reattach themselves.

Regarding having two Captains Scarlets running around, the episode "Shapeshifter" from the NCS series did give a spin on the subject. We don't know exactly WHAT is the nature of the Shapeshifter, but hey, the Mysterons do have "powers we can't hope to understand" so it works for me.
In fanfic, you can find double of Scarlet in Would the real Captain Scarlet please stand up?, Crisis and Dead Man's Gambit, and another Spectrum officer was submitted to the same problem in Dead Ringer
On the subject of re-attaching limbs there are two stories popping in my mind right now: Heartless and Project Kingsilver.
Of course, there is no saying that no-one can't write another story on any of those subjects. I just wanted to point out that it's already been done a number of times and that one needed to see how it's been done, in order to present a new and different spin on HOW it would be done this time around and what would happen in the course of this new story!

Ghost in the Machine
and its sequel,
Valediction
whilst Synchronicity has multiple everybody - albeit not Mysteron-generated.

Sorry, I can't do those fancy 'click on the title links'...

Thanks, Sage. I gave it a go! No doubt I will forget before I have to do it again

I'm seeing all these fics and thinking 'ooh that's a good one, and that', lol. Haven't written any of my own on the subject, but it's obviously a fetish of sorts.
Hmm can't think of any others on the theme though.

I haven't listed any stories with multiple agents in... but thats an idea I might use

I can't do those types of links either... its probably mentioned in the technical help for this forum section though.
As you have probably guessed, I have read those two stories

"Oh, another agent bites the dust,"
They wouldn't care. But if they did, wouldn't they transport the incomplete (Why did I watch Chainsaw Massacre again?!) body back to Mars and restore it? Bit like a car recieving a bump?

Like someone might take their car to a garage? Wouldn't the Mysterons do that 'voodoo' that they do (), and recreate matter (put their agent back together) without having to 'transport' the body back to Mars?... actually, I think this sort of subject (about Mysterons being 'put together again' was mentioned in a different topic. *hides from the Mods in case they're nearby*

Staying on the same thought, for another minute or two, ....
