Why is there no technical help given, so far as I can see, for polls?
Or is such help given, and links to it not made more evident?

The information for most of the basic questions related to the forum are found in the FAQ link in the top menu of this forum.
For more mind-bending problems, we have opened this technical forum to bring whatever help we can. And if we can't answer, some of our members might be able to!
I believe the polls question is refered to in the FAQ menu. You can go check it out.
