Captain Black's dilemma

It's a fair point, and I'm tempted to disagree just because I dont like this version! The Mysterons, seems to show different, from one shot to another, Black's appearance changes, and this is my preffered version. The the original has been taken over, made a slave with no feeling or conciousness, unaware of what he is doing.... a total slave to the Mysterons just a puppet on a string... oh dear, that sounded so bad, I'll have to apologise...

I was listening to one of the audio-adventures that was produced in the 60s - Introducing Captain Scarlet' - and in it Colonel White is explaining to a bunch of rather dim-witted 'conventional military men' (as one describes himself) that from the moment Black (in the MEV having blown up the Mysteron City)said to Lt Dean
"we will survey the wreckage and return to Earth "
radio communication was cut off. Nothing else was known about the fate of the astronauts, until the expedition craft WITH ONLY CAPTAIN BLACK ON BOARD returned to Glennfield. Black disappears before he can be questioned. It is only then that the first Mysteron threat is broadcast 'all over the world'.
That message tells that 'one of you will be under our control'.

That is one option for what happened to the other men - they never left Mars...
I know the audio adventures are yet another strand of the notoriously 'wobbly' canon - and this is the story that suggests Scarlet is controlled by computers - an idea later ditched to keep him as an independent spirit - but it is as close as the Andersons get to telling us about the fate of the Martian expedition - as far as I know.
