Interceptor pilots

Hello everyone,have just found this site and i love it.Captain scarlet was always my fav Gerry Anderson program.
I have a question concerning the Angel interceptors.I havent seen all of the episodes and was wondering if anyone else apart from the normal pilots ever flew one in the series.
I know in one episode some of the fighters are taken over by the mysterons but did any of the Captains fly one.Thanks in advance ...Neil P

Hi, Neil P - welcome to the site.
The only instance I can remember of a captain flying an Angel Interceptor is in 'Attack on Cloudbase' where Captain Scarlet uses one of them.
However, that is complicated by the twist in the end of the plot - which I won't give away, in case it is an episode you haven't seen. Suffice to say, it throws considerable doubt on the events for most of the episode!
Other than that, I don't think anyone except the Angels use the AIs...

I've always assumed that some of the captain's especially the one's formally pilots could fly the Interceptors. Blue and Ochre did fly that bomber in Flight to Atlantica so there's no reason for them not to fly something as simple as an Interceptor.

Thank you both,i have a vague memory of of someone other than an angel flying one ,but weather it was a n actule memory of an episode or one of my child hood games i cant say.I spent many hours with my Airfix Angel shooting up mysteron baddies.Happy days

I wish I had had one full stop I've had Hurricane's, Spitfires even Messerschmitt's but never an Angel Interceptor. Blast it.

Would an Angel aircraft be a simple aircraft? It is the latest in technology of 2068.
