You know you're addicted to Captain Scarlet when ...

At work you are asked to set up a ‘false’ company so your IT department can test a new database.
Your new company is called Skybase Air Photography, part of the Cloudbase Corporation

The CEO is Charles Grey
Head of Finance is Seymour Griffiths
Head of IT is Serena Lewis
Head of Security is Paul Metcalfe
Head of Accounts is Adam Svenson
Head of Sales is Elaine McGee
Head of Customer Services is Conrad Lefkon
The products the company offer are called packages, the customers can select their package from a list of products:
Symphony package
Rhapsody package
Or the colour coded package deals
Scarlet
White
Blue
You get the general idea………………but, what is more amazing is that two of the older IT guys going over the test results RECOGNISE where the names etc have come from and tackle you about it

Ooops…………

Sir Charles Gray is a pensioner and gets free audio loans, Karen Wainwright has a brood of children and Paul Metcalfe has a huge fine on his ticket for losing his books...
So don't worry, Brindlewhite, we all do it

I also really want to read/write about Scarlet having a run in with the cloudbase librarian. A huge library fine sounds quite likely as he does travel a lot, and dying all the time is probably a bit distracting too.
Blue strikes me as a very contentious library patron though, maybe he brings them back on Scarlet's behalf.

I can just imagine Conrad being in charge of a customer service centre, on bad days he could be very Black indeed

Sage, those sound like some very good ideas for fan fics from one of the best

You can see how CS affects every one of our thoughts and we definately know we are addicted, I wonder how many times a day some part of it enters our consciousness?

Hello? Customer services?
(Captain Black takes the call)
This is the Voice of Customer Service. We know that you can hear us, Earthman! How can we help you?
My computer keeps locking up about three times a day. What do you recommend?
Take a large hammer. Now hit your computer until it is in very small pieces!
(One minute later)
Okay. Done that. Now what?
(Two green circles pass over the wrecked computer. A new computer appears beside the wreckage)
Your computer is now fixed, Earthman. Have a nice day!
Oh Thank You!
(Call ends. Captain Black now hacks into the retrometabolised computer)
This is Captain Black, relaying instructions from the Mysterons.......
It would explain a lot about computer help lines

I think that says it all

What a simply wonderful mental image that gives me, Kambei! Next time I have steam coming out of my ears when speaking to someone on the Sony 'help'line, I shall just imagine Black at other end of the phone

This story (by Keryn) goes some way to explaining why the Mysterons eventually took over all the call centres...

I remember that one!

new one (for me, anyway):
... you manage to 'persuade' a friend to help you continue on of your fics.
... and even come up with a code name for said friend.
that's madness with a little 'm'... as in 'crazy'...

Hazel? Thanks for mentioning the London Plane Trees (in 'Death And The Captain')...

(if you hadn't I don't think I would ever have known about them)
