Do Angels carry pistols & if so what do they look like ?

There is a breakdown of the Angels' uniform on the main website. From that, it looks as if they don't carry pistols.

Many thanks Marion. It looks like you are right, although I would have sworn that in one episode an Angel landed in pursuit of Captain Black & I thought she had a gun. I must have been mistaken.

Probably you are thinking of a the first Captain Scarlet comic strip from the pages of Century 21: "We, the Mysterons, will Destroy Unity City!" In this, Captain Black had kidnapped Scarlet, and the Angels find both of them bound on a beach, given as a sacrifice to - yuck! - crabs. At least Destiny Angel is seen holding a gun which is quite similar to the one the Captains carry. Possibly, they might have one stashed in their cockpit?

Would've thought they might have one in the cockpit for when they need it. Like if they joined a manhunt for Captain Black (though I know Symphony didn't have a gun when she's captured by Black) but just as an example. Some pilots in WWII had guns if for the sole purpose for breaking a canopy if they crashed so who knows.

I would go with the same idea as well. They might not need one on their person when they fly (they have a bigger gun...) but in the cockpit, should they have to land, or crash, one would surely be useful.

Considering the fact that they eject with their seat, maybe it is stashed somewhere, attached to that seat, actually!

Regarding Symphony in "Manhunt"... well, it was already established by Colonel White that she was very careless, so perhaps if she had a weapon onboard, she left it there... Or Black surprised her before she could take it, or use it!

I do think they would bring a weapon when on ground missions, though, which is not often admittedly but... Can you really imagine Destiny and Symphony without one when they went undercover in "Model Spy"? Although, when you take a sunbath, it might be difficult to hide...

Maybe - to pinch an idea from New Captain Scarlet - they have to share the gun, due to cutbacks? :wink:

But I agree that when working out of the planes they would need some kind of weapon. It's to be hoped they're better shots with a hand gun than they are with an Angel Jet. :grin:
