Favourite Character (NCS)
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
I was looking at the OCS fave character poll, and thought there should be an NCS one as well. I don't know if this has been done before, and, if so, I appologise.
I'm not going to include every character as I don't think some of them made an impact. If you disagree with my choices, I'm sorry, but I was also trying to stay in the limit number of options...

I don't know NCS Magenta all that well to like him as much as OCS Magenta but NCS Black has it all for a bad guy. So there you go.

Actually, I think he was the only one of the transposed original characters of any merit, and that was because of his dry 'black' humour and his total lack of scuple and pity.
Maybe OCS Black could have been the same, if they'd intended him to a major character at the start and written him a decent part? He certainly had no qualms about carrying out his masters' orders. However, the element of doubt about if he had been killed and mysteronised, or was merely under their control and retained his human faculties - makes him a more interesting character, if a less entertaining one.

The strange thing is, I seem to be the only person who doesn't really like Black. I mean, he was alright, he had a good sense of humour and such, but I just didn't like him that much.
I don't think you are meant to 'like' him. The poll is for 'favourite character' - that doesn't mean you have to like them.
For a start, it does suggest the individual should have a character - and Black certainly has one. A very unpleasant one.
He's also a bit of a cliche, I suppose - the direct descendant of the Victorian baddy. with the black moustaches he would twirl as he gave a wicked laugh over the helpless maiden.

Few of the others have any character, IMHO. Of those that do:
I don't like Blue's 'character' and I have really never liked Scarlet - OCS or NCS - although it is quite possible as 'characters' go, NCS is LESS objectionable that OCS (as seen on TV).
White started out as not bad, and got worse. He didn't convince me - and the story about his silly daughter confirmed my opinion that he wasn't up to it.
Lady Ochre has some appeal - but she didn't appear until quite late on, and I'd pretty much lost interest, by then.
Destiny I dislike intensely. I just don't feel her 'character' (as shown on TV) is the right one for the woman she is supposed to be. Some FanFiction developing why she is as we see her in the series, might help rehabilitate her. MIGHT

Green? Well, she just comes over as a little girl - with a crush on the older 'boy-next-door' - and indulged as everyone's favourite. I kind of see Blue feeling he has to look after her, but I don't see him desperate to get her into a serious relationship - whatever she thinks.
(Ain't gonna win myself any friends here, am I? LOL But maybe it'll encourage some serious debate about how people DO see the NCS characters, rather than just 'Ooh, s/he's my fav!

How very DARE YOU!!

On the relationship note...well...give them time! No more series, but don't shatter my dreams! They will get together! In my mind!

Maybe I did use the wrong wording in 'Character', I don't know...

P.S. Don't hate me Marion! I have a strange sense of humour!

I'd have to, on balance, say Scarlet, because despite the occasional bout of acute wimpiness and addiction to terrible one-liners, he's really quite gorgeous. Unlike OCS Scarlet, who always sounded like he'd had something really unpleasant for lunch ( and didn't have a sense of humour, to boot ).
Black is fabulous and so sexy, you'd have to overlook the fact that he's a Mysteron ( I can see that this will provide me with all sorts of unexpected problems in the writing stakes, because there's just so much scope for mischief......).
Now, you all know what I'm going to say. I surely can't be the only person in the whole world who thinks Destiny has some redeeming qualities ?
Marion, in the fanfic stakes, I am doing my best to redress the balance, but it remains to be seen whether this will prove too herculean a task for me !

I know four people apart from you who like Destiny. Three are blokes, and fancy her because they all like mindless blonde bimbos, so long as they're 'hot', and the other is a woman, who...likes her because we see her more

I see it is becoming increasingly urgent to write something from her own point of view, if only to dispel the blonde bimbo idea! Ironically, she does make that comment about someone else in the story.......

You can tell from my avatar.

Although I have to admit, Captain Ochre came in close to being my first choice. She is an entertaining character, as well as Blue can be at times.
She peered at it.
