Animation Article

I am passing this along as more of an interest, not to ruin anything for anyone. I for one love the animation for NCS and at times take offence at anyone who points out mistakes or 'bloopers'. Not that I think people are looking for mistakes, its just natural and hopefully this won't make the series any less enjoyable.

The artical is a very critical look at CG animation for the New Captain Scarlet and points to several errors that are probably result of lack of time and money as our CG people have stated before. I don't think the article is meant to be negative, more just staing facts but it is interesting and shows things I probably didn't notice at all but now will probably not be able to ignore while watching the series again.

Same here. Not sure how accurate the article is really. Some of it makes sense,

Heh! Well, they're all fair comments and no doubt things the production crew would've liked to fix had there been any time to do so. It's easy to sit back and critique others work (I do it myself) but tight deadlines always cause compromises to be made - it's one of the things that infuriates artists more than anything else...

It sounded quite negative to me...fine, their stating facts, but wouldn't you just rather sit back and enjoy the show? Not comment on the tiniest of details even a hawk wouldn't be able to pick up. Its all good to me. The show is brilliant, and the CGI is pretty good.

Yeah, this 'Lindsay Grace' person who wrote it is being TOO through. Half of those bloopers and stuff you wouldn't notice unless you were really lookign out for them. I mean, lack of pressure? It's a kids show! Kids don't care that when someone sits down they don't make the chair fabrics move and stuff!
I'll be honest, I do see bloopers and do put them on the forum, as you'll have noticed, but it's a form of respect. The things I say aren't meant to criticize the animators or anything.
I'm all worked up now. Stupid article...

I think Foster and Serena Lewis are being a tad over protective here.
The article, as I read it, was an academic excercise - looking to learn from mistakes - mistakes that were made, as Aegis says, due to presssure of deadlines and finances.
In the best of all possible worlds, they would have had time and money to spot and correct them - same as they would have done with the mistakes picked out on this forum.
We all cricitise plot gaps and identify 'problem areas' - we do it with OCS as well. None of it is done in any attitude but affection for the show and admiration for the people who worked on it.
I am not great NCS fan, but I can see that a great deal of effort and attention was put into making the show - as it was with OCS and the rest of the Anderson shows.

Okay, maybe I am being over-protective, but I really do love this show. It's great! So anyone mentioning things that really, really don't matter, and probably wouldn't be noticed, may annoy me, at least a little. I'm strange like that...

It annoys me too. I might have been a little over protective, but this is a good show, and it deserves respect.
