Most Stupidest and Annoying Character

Destiny is very silly and she is annoying too.

Nope, as much as I've thought about throwing this extremely heavy book at you, I've decided that, sadly, you're right. NCS Green has had a lot more of a chance to shine than her OCS counterpart, who I always felt was an underused character with an awful lot more to give.

I actually find myself likingLady Green and Lady Ochre as characters, despite the fact I vowed to hate them because they replaced two of my favourite OCS characters. Thankfully, Destiny offered herself willingly as the new object of my distain.

As for the others, Scarlet's annoying but his cheesy one-liners started to grow on me like some sort of fungus; Blue needs to see some kind of specialist about his apparant inability to smile; Gold could have shone, filling the gap that Fawn just... didn't, but once again, the doctor seems to have been shunned, only to be produced when absolutely necessary, and is as thick as two short planks! I don't think I've seen enough of Magenta to have any opinion about him either way (ditto Grey).
White, however, is superb. They've got that ascerbic streak captured perfectly, although I thought he went a bit OTT with Ochre in Grey Skulls.

All of the characters have irritated me at some point, but overall I think they're all okay. If I had to pick - I'd say Scarlet. He's always moaning about how he's not human and he just depresses everyone around him.

I really liked the Scarlet/Destiny thing that was going on at first. But looking back now, I have to say Destiny was by far the most irritating of all the characters. :lol:

Has to be Destiny. I didnt like the new Green at first. I still think Mr Griffiths should have had a part in the show (perhaps Promoted to Captain?) but she grew on me after a while. I did like the new Ochre (when they got round to using her). Destiny though, her voice drags on, she does the boo-hoo and storms off at one point early in the series (ohh, how I'd hoped she'd quit). The French approach was much, much more appealing (though isnt she still supposed to have some sort of French link?) She got way to much screen time, even eclipsing Scarlet at times. Fine if it wasnt a character that is so damn annoying. Also didnt really like the new Colonel much. Just not as commanding as in the original. He wasnt that bad I suppose. Black I just cant decide. The thought that he was being tortured almost like a robot (and with 'that voice') was much more scary. But his clever dialogue in the NCS more than made up for it. Doctor Gold, I quite liked, although I do agree, I'd have sacked him as my Doc!

Come on people, give Destiny a break ! She was basically a victim of poor script-writing, although I suppose that could be said for all of the characters at times.

The poor girl has had a lot to put up with, so it's not surprising she's a bit of a basket case. I like the fact that she can be irritating, it makes her more human.

Personally, much prefer the CGI Scarlet. His sense of humour may be a bit suspect, but at least he's got one. OCS just seemed to sound bad-tempered most of the time.

Ochre's great, deserves her own series. Green and Blue do grow on you. I quite like Captain Grey, it's a pity they didn't run to a third series, because it would have been a chance to develop the other characters.

Most of the characters I didn't like at first, although they do indeed grow on you! I like all the secondary captains. And Scarlet and White and Black are great!

Black has all the best lines, no doubt about that. Although I don't know how they can quite square the plummy English accent ( which is perfect for the dialogue ) with his official biography, which indicates he has a Greek/Brooklyn background.

Any budding fanfic writers ( hope there will be more soon ! ) will have to be a bit inventive about where he was educated !

Ah but it just wouldn't be a true Gerry Anderson show without some inexplicable characterisation like that (I always assumed Black was a Brit). It just adds to the fun

That's true, Sage, although I'm not sure why they didn't try to get the characterisations to fit in better with the voice artists. Most of my info comes from what I can remember from the defunct official website, which I think appeared round about the time the show was due to be broadcast. Not sure who provided the info, but I thought it would be G Anderson, or the writers.

The information re OCS seemed in the main to come from the much-loved TV21 comic ( showing my age, here ) which came out a fair while after the show had had time to bed in, and everybody knew who the characters were and it was fairly obvious where they came from.

It has to be Destiny, because she just...IS. I'm struggling to find one thing I like about her. Scarlet was annoying lots of the time, and Blue was just such a let down after the great character we had in OCS.

Quite enjoyed White and Green, and thought Ochre was the best of the lot.

i think another anoying character is Magenta, i mean, wat is he there for, apart from chatting up the ladies!! (>[

In OCS, Black was born in Manchester, but orphaned as a baby and raised by his uncle in the USA. Maybe we should simply reverse this for NCS?

I don't think canon says Conrad Turner was raised in America and given that he studied in Manchester it seems odd that he should return there after being raised from 7 months in America.
Pre Mysteron Black has an American accent, Mysteronised Black has a British one - why is never explained - story-wise, (we know it was different actors...) Its just another Anderson Continuity Glitch.
