Is that a bad thing?

Either that or the whole Mysteron "Your violence disgusts us" speech from Instrument of Destruction - I thought that made it pretty clear that whatever that "probe" was, it wasn't a weapon...
I went back and watched IoD part 1 again and what the Mysterons actually say :
Earthmen, this is the voice of the Mysterons. We have watched you for centuries. Your violence disgusts us and now you visit it on us. You cannot destroy us, Earthmen, but now we will crush your world.
(The punctuation is my own interpretation. I can't tell exactly where the full stops would be from what's spoken. )
I still don't think that makes it clear the 'probe' wasn't a weapon of some kind. If the Mysterons know we are violent and that disgusts them - what's to stop them launching a pre-emptive strike at us - much as Black did when he destroyed the probe?
Scarlet does suggest at the time that 'they might be scanning us' - but Black rejects that idea and fires anyway.

Well I guess that does depend entirely on your point of view

... has Blue in fact been retrometabolised, as a sleeper agent?
Ooh...that's an idea...he probably isn't...maybe...because he never got killed...maybe...Scarlet didn't sense that he was a Mysteron, but as his 'sixth sense' was only mentioned once in passing...
There's equal chance Grey might have been taken over, although given that he's not a main character it's unlikely. Why'd he get kicked out first though? And where did he wander off to?
Oh, it's great not being able to know anything for certain.

I can't stop thinking about the Mysteron speech at the end of 'Captain Scarlet vs the Mysterons'...the lines "One day the Mysterons will return." and "We can distort space and time." now have new meanings.

Did think the fact that it was all a decoy was weak. It looked as if the episdoe was striving to be more with the whole mind game and time travel stuff thrown in. I agree that it would have made more sense to have the Mysterons put a stop to the rebel faction's plan to rewrite history using Scarlet. The whole thing was a little elaborate for a decoy. Why not just fly the ship around Skybase for a few more hours - that would be as good a decoy as anything.

My major gripe though was with how the Mysterons actually ended up winning. Surely the world isn't still that dependant on fossil fuels? And why doesn't anyone else montier the oil fields? Plus there's the issue of how exactly they're going to cover up this loss of oil.
It occurs to me - somewhat late in the day, admittedly - that the loss of the fossil fuel supply is a direct consequence of Spectrum being manned by so few people.
In CS:CGI we've never heard mention of any terrestrial bases (that I am aware of) and - as they now drop the Rhinos from Skybase in those Albatross planes - we never see any affiliated staff working in local jobs, hiding (and presumably maintaining) the SPVs - as we did in the classic series.
If the Mysterons are serious about winning the 'war of nerves' all they have to do is get Spectrum to chase a red herring and move in whilst their backs are turned.
Was this the reason for the weekly Mysteron threats of the original plots, perhaps? It allowed Spectrum to concentrate their firepower without the risk of a sneak attack elsewhere making them all look like complete dorks...
It also makes me wonder, again, just what kind of organisation this 'new' Spectrum is? Is it just an elite group of officers on Skybase ? And if so, what were they there for before the Mysterons arrived on the scene? And who, (or what or where), put up the money for such an organisation, which must cost billions to run and equip?
I don't suppose it's important to the 'target age group' - but it's niggling at me. I'm sure many of the answers to the above questions were not explained on the TV shows - but in the comics, as usual. Just makes me wish we'd had the supporting merchandise the classic series did, all the more.

Does anyone know the proposed running order of the new series? Neither the official site nor Fanderson have updated yet to included even episode titles...
Has anybody got the latest edition of the Complete Gerry Anderson Episode Guide?
That was supposed to include NCS, but I don't know if it covered both seasons.
I suspect it probably doesn't though, considering it was published before production on the series had wrapped...

It has episode titles and one-line synopses of the second series. it's more up-to-date than other web listings, not including 'House of Dolls', and adding 'Grey Skulls' as episode 26 in order of production.

I'm sorta glad she didn't shoot the REAL Blue...

But I can't wait till the Series 2 DVD comes out (I'll be able to watch episode again then).
that's madness with a little 'm'... as in 'crazy'...

Excellent episode, definitely.
Very suprised in many scenes with what happened, especially the Christmas scene. Shocked to see Captain Black really!!!
She peered at it.
"You're going to tell me that it encapsulates the eternal struggle between The Pussycat Dolls and Girls Aloud, aren't you?"
