However - Little Vickie - I would have expected far better from one of the colonel's offspring. Perhaps she was adopted.

This time around Spectrum are not exactly high on protecting identities. Aside from the Rhino under the house, Colonel White was back home in uniform. I think Scarlet also underestimates the Colonel's importance to Spectrum. It's not going to fall apart due to some percieved scandal concerning him. Senior military positions are generally filled by a person for only a couple of years then they are posted on, retire or whatever and someone else gets the job. Colonel White would have to retire some day (or take one of those politically appointed cushy posts in the World Government perhaps).

I sure wouldn’t like Dr Gold as my GP - he seems far to fond of sticking needles into people, without much warning. As usual Black saves the day…I mean the episode. He gets my vote as the best character in the new series. Loved the hologram scenes.

It appears that Spectrum is known to the world, White's daughter knows the name and refers to Scarlet by his code name, but she is unware of the Mysteron threat - this brings up the entire "What was Spectrum before the Mysteron attack?"
Animation highlight - Angel attack on Vampire fighter
Story highlight - "How were the sandwiches?"
7/10

Its a good idea to flesh out Colonel White (although I might be a tinsy bit biased there). I like the conflict between doing what he sees as his duty and the needs of his family.
I also like the notion that CW can be a bit of an action man - he's not just the stuffed shirt (or colour coded tunic) sitting behind his desk
Could have done without the Charles and Diana thing especially as she would by Lady Diana but I can live with it.
My only niggle is the supreme wetness of his family. A weak and weepy wife and a simpering daughter, the man should have been treated better. Where's the strong wife who can give White a run for his money and the daughter who can stand on her own two feet.

Now I know why Captain Blue is my favourite character. Looks great in civvies and the thing with the sandwhiches, "Great!"

She peered at it.
"You're going to tell me that it encapsulates the eternal struggle between The Pussycat Dolls and Girls Aloud, aren't you?"
