I think this might be Treble Cross.
The 'double' is Major Gravener and his Mysteron duplicate, and the disused facility is Western Airbase. Not sure about the odd-looking vehicle, though. Could it be the Detector Van, or perhaps the truck with the extending light-bar?

A double - that might be the Spectrum agent who impersonated the Asian Director General.
A headache - Poor, dear Captain Scarlet begins to feel quite unwell and puts his hand to his forehead, in a manner suggestive of a headache, when the Mysteronised jet lands at London Airport.
An oft-repeated date - I would have to assume that this is July 10th - a day simply packed with incident in the lives of our heroes.
All in all it is the mission known as 'Winged Assassin', I think?

Oh dear, now I am confused.
I thought the idea was to answer all three elements of the question, or at least give some explanation to show that it wasn't a simple, random guess.

I think you're right. As much as possible, the people should try to identify the elements in questions, and then what it refers to. Then everyone will see the reasonning behind the question.

I think that'll make it fair to everyone.

No, they're what you sketched out in your first post - three clues to one person, episode, item, whatever.

What LadyP and Chris are saying is that you need to give four answers, as everyone else has on this thread - identify the three elements, then identify what they are describing. Otherwise, your answer could simply be a wild guess. In other words: "show your reasoning".
