Captain Black Custom Action Figure

Got a figure from Japan the other day. I use the Microman Material Force series quite often these days as they are reasonably priced and are hyper-articulated. 30 points of articulation and 4 inches high, which is the primary scale I work in. That means you can pose them in most positions a human can take on. This is the basic figure:

The head is a resin cast from a GI Joe figure. The tunic is made of black felt. The belt and holster are vinyl, the hat and boot tops are sculpted. This was originally going to be a different figure until I thought: What if? and started doing a little experimenting. I was so pleased with the way this was going that I completed it.

I will be doing a Scarlet figure as soon as the figure on order arrives from my source in Japan. That one will have interchangeable heads, with and without uniform cap. I may do some of the other Captains. Blue would be my next choice as I have my eye on some nice blue felt. Probably won't do a full set as they are quite complicated to get the tunic onto. I am also going to be doing a Destiny Angel figure using this:

But using the white version as a base. This one will be the same as the Captains. One head with helmet, one without.

Great work! Those Microman figures have amazing poseability. I love the cloth tunic - very cool. Keep it up!

Thanks. When I do the Scarlet (probably next week), one of the other customisers I know wants me to do a step-by-step on making the figure. I might post it here if anyone is interested.
Probably be making Destiny the week after.

Kambei, you can prepare your step-by-step on a Word document, with pictures and everything. Then send it to me. I'll be glad to post it on an html page to which we'll be able to put a link to. What do you say?

I will load Word into the computer. Don't normally use it, but will hgive it a go.

Wait until you see Scarlet. Three different interchangeable heads. One with just hair, one with a cap and one with the helmet.
