You're right though, he'd be a hideous choice.
If it is true then I really hope it doesn't even as bad as all the other remakes doing the rounds (like the Thunderbirds movie, nearly wept for how they ruined that).

Shane Ritchie as Scarlet? He's too old, he's too common, he looks nothing like either Classic or New Scarlet, and he's a crap actor. I will file this rumour under "Never in 10 billion years". Rest easy, Maltray.

The fact that this bit of information apparently came from The Sun newspaper says it all. (See FAB Gear Gerry Anderson Forum http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/proteus/vpost?id=603999 for info). If it was from a much more reliable source it might be believable - except for the Shane Ritchie bit.

Might be fun to imagine who else would be cast in a film like that. Jordan as Destiny Angel, perhaps?

Hm yes Thunderbirds did somewhat stink mostly because J frakes was directing. Mister Frakes is only good at what he knows IE Star Trek TNG
If Scarlet was to be made, I suspect it might be a mix of CGI and live action. I would have liked to of seen a much better version, as I have the 1967 version of Thunderbirds Are Go, and I have to say that the Rock Snakes and Zero X rock!
if scarlet was to become a film I think it would have to be very carefully handled.

*grins stupidly at "Nymphony"* How very appropriate, given the above.

Shane Ritchie = soapland actor. Used to advertise washing powder. *realises* And no, that's not a pun.
