Over Christmas it was announced that Eartha Kitt had died, aged 81. She is thought to have been the model for Melody Angel.
I leave it up to you to decide, but I can see why it could be...

Yes, I saw that picture in the paper, and I would say the resemblance is uncanny...

Rather than start a new thread for a minor character (although by no means a minor actor), I'll add to this one.

It was announced today (14 January 2009) that Patrick McGoohan has died, aged 80. McGoohan was already famous as John Drake in the TV series ‘Danger Man’ when he was mooted in the pilot script as one of the ‘guest puppets’ for Captain Scarlet, playing World President Younger. In 1968, he became even better known as the enigmatic Number Six in ‘The Prisoner’.

I always thought that puppet was one of the very best. Maybe they made it to tempt him into the role?
I have to say I never saw him in anything on TV - but I did see him as Edward I in 'Braveheart'... and I know he was a well-respected actor.
Its a great shame.

I always find I get a very odd sense of loss when actors and celebrities that you grew up with die.
Certainly I remember McGoohan very well from 'The Prisoner', and I always liked his performance in 'Ice Station Zebra'.
I just recently listened to his last voice-over in the film 'Treasure Planet' that I watched with my kids. I knew it was him immediately, despite his obvious age, for he had such a distinctive clipped voice. Actor, director, writer and producer, a man of many talents.

that is sad, i really enjoyed The Prisoner and Secret Agent.

I did not know he had a puppet done after him, bunny bit of trivia, that.

I tell you what, Eartha Kitt is a dead ringer of Melody. They could've been sisters except that Melody is a puppet.
