Ten Thousand Posts and Counting....

Just in case anybody hasn't noticed, the counter of the number of postings on this board slipped past 10,000 just a few moments ago. I'd like to take the opportunity to wish everyone who has contributed to that amazing figure a very happy 2008, and look forward to watching it rise ever higher as the weeks and months go by. And it's still Christmas, so here's to all of us:

Not many websites do so well, particularly with a subject that's over 40 years old !

Could, of course, be down to the calibre of the participants ! :wink:

It's great that everyone still has topics to discuss as far as CS and related stuff is concerned. I realise NCS is limited, but I hope some of us can still fly the flag and keep discussion going. Otherwise Lydia and I are going to feel pretty lonely in the fanfic stakes !

Come on, you die-hards; Want to give it a go ? Put aside your dislike and get on board the NCS ship? After all, haven't you exhausted the possibilities for OCS and Co? (overkill)

Don't all throw things at once ! Just joking. Anyway, I for one, am looking forward to lots more hours of pointless chat, drivel and great companionship in the year to come !

It could also be down to the age(s) of the participants, too. No matter how old they are :angel)

Why certainly it's down the ages of the participants! Where else outside the House of Lords can one expect to participate in such intelligent, intricate and detailed debates about such a fabulously incomprehensible compendium of abstruse and esoteric subjects? Maturity, you see - that's what does it. I think when we're all awarded our peerages for lifetime services to pseudoscience* we ought to invite some older members of the aristocracy to join the Forum: it'll probably lower the average age by about five years and ensure the continuing high quality of the discussion for the next decade. Of course, there might be a marginal increase in the number of posts relating to the (i) huntin' of Mysterons, (ii) shootin' of Mysterons and (iii) fishin' of Mysterons - but I'm sure we can accommodate those. We've covered just about every other aspect of Mysteron behaviour, after all.

[* I did check the New Year's Honours List before I logged in this evening: they seem to have left my name off this year, no doubt due to an administrative oversight which will be remedied after I've had a quiet word with my friend Penny, who combines a part-time job as House of Lords admissions secretary with her committments as International Rescue's agent in England. She's been a little busy recently on account of the Fireflash problems and that nasty business with the Anderbad monorail, so it's probably hardly surprising that it's slipped her mind. Also of course she's only about 25 years old.]

Oh my goodness, I simply can't believe that I let them omit your name, dear Doc B. I shall have a quiet word in the right ear, just as soon as I get a chance.
I have been frightfully busy over the festive season - which I hope everyone enjoyed just as much as I did! - that I have hardly had a moment to myself.
