Oh, no no no no. No no no, no. Twasn't. T'wasn't! Nyah!!!
*sticks out tongue*
The first UK programme filmed in colour was the latter half of 'The Adventures of Sir Lancelot', in 1957...I don't know if Stingray would be the first series completely shot in colour though...
I apparently stand corrected!

All right then.......the first Supermarionation program in color?

Thanks for the clarification!

I like the theme tune and I used to like Stingray as a kid. However for years I couldn't remember anything about it and really struggled to find any merit in the tapes Zillak sent me of the series. I eventually thoughtThe Secret Service to be so mind-bendingly awful that it was brilliant in its own macabre way, and Supercar is OK but, for me, only Thunderbirds and Scarlet stand as brilliant television series in their own right out of the Anderson puppet productions.
Secondly, Gordon wasn't a prat, he's actually very adorable in his own way. It's Alan, who's the real prat!
Ah, I only said that by having TB4 towed by the Navy it made him look like a bit of a prat.

And the Scarlet guide's had an update.

You've managed to get my brother back into CS too, we're alternating between watching the episodes and giggling at the reviews.
Oh but there was a first name used ...
Right after the rocket explodes Scarlet exclaims 'we did it Adam' (which err they hadn't, but y'know)
Yeah I never got into Stingray either, just kept wanting to beat Troy sensless and for Atlanta to quit being such a damsel in distress. Otherwise it was rather amusing, mostly because it had such naff sets [I have a special fondness for the 'alien base' which looks like the giant love child of starfish and rasberry], and the laughably absurd plots.
Do agree with your assesment of the Secret Service.

I am enjoying every last word of those CS reviews, and eagerly anticipate the next installment. I am especially looking forward to "Flight to Atlantica". I gather that you either hate Colonel White intensely or really like him, since you seem to enjoy picking on him a lot.
Are you going to "review" any other Anderson series?
Personally, I really like Stingray. Dunno quite why, but I've always enjoyed watching it; I love that Phones guy to death, too!
This isn't related to anything, but are you the same Secretive Bus who wrote that story on the Gallifrey One forums about all the then-current incarnations of the Doctor in one room? Because that was a really cute story, and I was wondering if you ever finished it.

"Flight to Atlantica" will be getting 5 stars, let me assure you of that.

It's doubtful, partly due to lack of time. I'm beginning University in a few months and so Internet time may be limited. Also I've got my mind on doing lots of things in "real life".

There was a brief moment when I thought I might have time to cover the New Series of Captain Scarlet but I don't think it'll be possible. If I were to do another Supermarionation guide then "Thunderbirds" would be the most likely candidate as its one of my favourite TV shows and, to be honest, the only other Anderson puppet serial I have any great affection for. However, Uni is likely to make me halt most of my online activity, including my usual comedy writing elsewhere.

Blimey, yes! One of my first fanfics, that.

I have written a lot of Doctor Who fanfiction, mainly short story comedies featuring the 4th Doctor, Romana and K9. If you're interested, they're mostly to be found here:

Dangerous Rendezvous gets quite a harsh rating in my opinion.

Of course, it reminds me of the NCS episode, Dominion, where Black genuinely believed he had escaped the Mysteron influence and really thought he could help Spectrum defeat the Mysterons.

Any chance that you could also include the opening credit pics, in one of the remaining ones?

The next three episodes - "Treble Cross", "Flight 104" and "Place of Angels" have all been written up so should be appearing over the coming weeks.

It's also especially hard for those who live in the UK, most of them don't have air conditioning. *sigh* AC is pretty much a necessity here in the US, as around 80% of the homes have it. But, it's about 96% in the southern states!
