Just a totally wild guess here, Beta Queen, but might the term 'Enterpriser' possibly refer to someone who is a fan of Star Trek and makes replica uniforms as worn by USS Enterprise personnel?

Possible, but unlikely, I would have thought. Fans of all incarnations of Star Trek are famously and globally known as 'Trekkies' or 'Trekkers'. (I understand that there's a difference between those two terms, but I have pretty much no idea of, and even less interest in, what that might be.)

Ah, I should have mentioned that I wondered whether they may be a group 'within' the general Trekkie/Trekker fold (no, I don't understand the difference either :lol:

).

Destiny has several hair styles, but not a hair cut. Symphony gets a hairCUT - and no wonder after her monumental effort at back combing at the end of 'Manhunt'. :shock:

Melody and Harmony have short hair which probably gets cut regularly.

Though not all Enterprisers make replica uniforms, the term "Enterpriser" should be construed to mean ANY fan of Star Trek; this means that there is no Trekkie or Trekker, no "Spockie" or "Star Trek Tippler," known on the planet--but all of us ENTERPRISERS!!!

....frankly I doubt it.

I asked ST fans on another scifi forum about the term 'Enterprisers' and the answer was the same from them all - they'd never heard of it.

In fact, some of them suggested it wasn't a particularly good choice of name if you were specifically a DS9 or Voyager fan, as the Enterprise was nowhere near as relevant in those series.

They all seemed happy to still be referred to as Trekkers (or variations thereof). :wink:

I tried to make a search with "enterpriser" and "Star Trek" on Google, and the first thing the search did was to tell me was "Did you mean 'Enterprise Star Trek'?" As such, it referred me to all kind of Star Trek sites, but there were no Enterpriser on these pages - except for a little something called 'Enterpriser Zone' which had absolutely nothing on it except an announcement for a page holder.

If I search Enterpriser alone, I get all kind of pages on - Enterprising...

On the other hand, if I make a search with 'Trekker', the first page it gets me is a Wikipedia page. 'Trekkie' (sorry guys!) gives me LOTS of pages...

I don't know where 'Enteprisers' comes, but if it exists, but it would seem that it certainly isn't as a widespread (not by a longshot!) as either Trekker or Trekkie...

I asked around several friends in the Star Trek fandom - they all responded with "never heard of it". I did find a brief reference to "Niners" (people who specifically like Deep Space 9) but no "Enterprisers". I also did a couple of online searches, and got the same results as Chris.

So, sorry, Parker, I think you're on your own with that designation.

But getting back on subject, you know you are addicted when you are watching an episode of OCS for visual references and you find yourself accurately quoting the dialogue.

Okay, confession time....
Before I had the audio adventures on cassette, then CD - in fact before I had anything but the 90s comics and episodes video'd off the TV :oops:

- I used my radio-cassette player (see, all up to date technology chez moi) to record the dialogue from my favourite episodes. Then I edited out the loud bangs and boring bits (Yes there ARE boring bits!) so I could listen to it on my Walkman as I carried on my day to day business like housework and shopping. I used to listen to it at bedtime too... ah, drifitng off to sleep to the dulcet tones of Scarlet and Blue - you can't beat it. :wink:

Your blog has a custom moodtheme. So that for every post you can choose an itty bitty picture of a CS character at the bottom that best correspondes with your emotional state.

Maybe this says more about the writer part of me, but ...
You find out an upcoming episode of another show you enjoy will be set in Detriot. And your first thought is 'ooh that'd really help me get good visuals and dialogue for writing Ochre'.
In fact every bit of trivia, no matter how inane, or tenious a connection to their home towns; is duly noted and it'll niggle away at you until some how you can work it into a fic.

At the moment, I quite sympathise with that. Just about to spend £32 to do just that.
