Captain Indigo's background
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force

Well I watch DVDs through my laptop, so just do 'print screen'... but there's probably another/better way of doing it, I'm not so great with techy stuff.

Johnnie, I don't know if I'm doing any more on the Andrew Laurence/ Denton Richmond Indigo. Richmond being the name I gave to the guy in this background and the like. My feeling is that I done quite a bit on his background for "Indigo"
However, I'm bringing back the Captain Indigo identity in a new story but I'm not going into here as I'll probably not be allowed to.

It depends on what player you use to watch the video, but if you use Windows Media Player 9 or below as I do, you can just hold Control and press 'I', which will bring up a dialog to save to the pic.

You only have to freeze the scene you want to capture, click on the icon and then open up the pic editor of your choice. You create a new blank page, right-click on it and paste. The scene you have chosen will appear. You just have to crop to take whatever part of the image you need - and sometimes resize, to fit the original dimensions of the picture.

Is there any chance any more Captain Indigo pics can be made, but as bigger pictues?
Many thanks,
James

I particularly like, and maybe it's just me, the addition of the indigo on the gun. I think we see everyone's guns with their colours except for Brown and Grey.

I think Grey used his gun in "Winged Assassin", but yeah, Brown never seemed to have one.
Here's one of my favourites so far:

As for that latest pic, it is indeed the best one so far. Quality.

mb2000 wrote:I used Adobe Photoshop 7. The image is a blending of a screencap of Captain Blue from "Operation Time" just before he kills Magnus and a screencap from "Spectrum Strikes Back" of Indigo just after his Mysteron appeared. These are the caps used:
The lack of good shots of Indigo in "SSB" limited what sort angles he could be shown at, but luckily Blue stood in the right place in the previous episode, but anyone stood in roughly that position would have worked. The gun was a bonus I though.
To put them togather, I started by cutting Blue's head out using the Lasso and copied all the blue of his uniform to a separate layer to make colour changing easier later. Then I cut Indigo's head out, flipped it, and placed that behind the uniform layer to give the appear he was wearing it (it also saved having to blend the collar etc as his neck just sit behind it) I shortened the Blue pic a little as Blue has a tall head and made a few adjustments to the surounding background to make sure you couldn't see the hole left by Blue's head. Lastly, I changed the clour of the uniform by adjusting the Hue settings. And there you go. Captain Indigo in uniform in 10 minutes!
The Captain Indigo puppet is also used in The Launching as 'Mervin Brand' if you're looking to create some more images! Just thought I'd mention!

That's a good point! I watched that yesterday to write the recap for TV.com and I didn't notice. I think he might have been Macey from BBSA as well now that you mention it. I'll have to have another look at those. Thanks!
