Marineville location?

This is to ask about the location of Marineville, in order to have better grasp of the events in The Concordian Legacy.

I have always believed Marineville was on the west coast of America.

I also have reason to believe that Marineville may be located somewhere on the American west coast. But in regard to exactly how close it is to, say, Twenty-Nine Palms, California, it'll be necessary for anyone else familiar with Stingray to provide more details.

It says in the Complete Book of Gerry Anderson under the episode notes to The Big Gun:

"Marineville is stated to be 10 miles inland of the west coast of the USA. The mini album "A Trip To Marineville" contradicts this, giving a figue of 20 miles"

That book is very reliable

As Marineville doesn't actually exist, you can place it as close to - or as far from - any specific place as you wish - within the facts given by canon.
I would say that if the TV show episode 'The Big Gun' states 10 miles from the coast, it should be considered more 'canon' than a mini-album adventure.

Very true

American's east coast is quite long, so you've still got plenty of scope (even factoring in where there are inlets and room for a huge base).
I really wouldn't loose sleep over it, creative license is fun.

Which is kind of a shame, Sage, since Marinevill is located on the *west* coast.

Marineville, is indeed located in the Pacific Ocean along the West Coast of North America, situated 10 miles inland (or 20, depending on the source). It's exact location is classified and is known only to highly placed senior members of government.

The WASP base is completely self-sufficient and is capaple of operating on it's own in an emergency for up to 3 years, if necessary.
