Leonard Nimoy: He lived long and prospered

Fans of Gerry Anderson's shows are often also fans of Star Trek.

The actor Leonard Nimoy, who personified the legendary Mr. Spock in the classic TV series and the following films, died today February 27th, 2015, at age 83, from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

A talented actor, Mr. Nimoy was also said to be a wonderful human being, who was loved by his peers and co-workers. He leaves behind wife Susan Bay Nimoy, two children from his first marriage to actress Sandra Zober, his stepson and grandchildren.

A few days ago, Mr. Nimoy left this on Twitter:

"A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. Live Long and Prosper."

This website humbly salutes the man and the actor who, by his protrayal, gave life to an unforgettable and loved character.

We presents our sympathies to all of his family and friends.

Chris, thanks for putting up this tribute to a wonderful actor and human being. Spock and Star Trek were indeed part of my youth,and all through my life, and I felt a strange poignancy when I heard of his death yesterday. His last words, humbling and profound, seem very fitting.

Spock was a fantastic character - a work of genius by creator and performer - and although I think Nimoy got fed up of 'being Spock' for a time, he will be forever associated with that role and in that role beloved by millions. That can't be a bad epitaph.
