Goal 2006: 300!!!!

Some of you might have noticed, on the Fan Fiction page, numbers that appeared at the end of the summary for the latest posted stories:

You might be wondering, "What the devil is 'ff #286'?" Easy! This story is number 286 of all the stories and related items (such as essays, calendars, etc.) that are listed on this website. The large majority of these stories are indeed hosted on Spectrum Headquarters, with a few of them posted on other sites as well - with Spectrum Headquarters providing the link to access to them*.

A few weeks ago, my loyal collaborators and me made a count of how many stories were listed on this website, and realised that we were so very CLOSE to 300! A thought occured to us that it would be wonderful to reach the 300 mark, before the end of the year - or even go beyond it - that would be a good way to celebrate the first 5 years of the Spectrum Headquarters site.

As the Halloween Challenge is in full gear, with stories already announced and possibly others to be submitted as well, the 300 mark doesn't sound that impossible to reach. And then after Halloween, there is the Christmas Challenge, which always attracts interest, each year... But if you are a writer, and if you wish so, so can contribute a story to this website, and help it reach its 300 stories mark.

Every good story is welcomed!

Oh wow, that is so great

Am sure we can achieve it, probably even surpass it.
Shall certainly do my part, I have two new fics ready to go right now and plenty of ideas lined up.

I have a couple of possible stories in development limbo and a christmassy one that's festering on the back-boiler....all I need is the time, inspiration and no interruptions for a few weeks, and they'd be ready!

I'm sure the numerous fanfic writers who frequent the site can manage another 14 in the next few months... :wink:

Chris - the count is per story, isn't it?
I ask because on the HALLOWEEN fiction page is says:

"The Hearne Inheritance", by Marion Woods. Paul Metcalfe discovers he is to inherit a substantial legacy, but finds that there are serious drawbacks associated with the bequest. (ff #287) Posted October 8, 2006.

"Resurrection", by Hilary Perry. "Those who once ruled the Earth will do so again." So says the latest Mysterons' threat. But what does it mean exactly? (ff #287)(Previously appeared in an Australian fanzine)

but the Fan Fiction page has 'Resurrection' as story number ff#228 :wink:

Is this the work of the Mysterons?

Twelve to go to at least reach the 300 mark before the end of the year! Going well!

Actually, the count is now 292, with "The Last Captain Scarlet Story", posted with two new stories last Friday.

Well, we've had a computer virus, problems with web hosts, and changed from Windows XP to Linux Qubuntu... And we're still on target! Hopefully, our Halloween contribution will be finished on time ragardless!

Well we're currently at #298, so yeah pretty sure we'll make it.
I've just sent my latest fic off; kinda wanted the kudos of having written the 300th fic, but oh well.

In light of that I propose a sweepstake ...
How far over 300 do you think we'll go before the year is out?
In addition to lots of awesome CS fics, the winner gets that warm fuzzy glow that comes from being right. :wink:

I'll say 20.

In all fairness - Number 300 should be Chris's - without her we wouldn't have 300 (almost) fics to read!
