I own every piece of merchandise I can get my hands on, and I love New Captain Scarlet just as much... but in a different way.
First of all, just let me say that its a pleasure to be here amoung you fine people, and that I've long been reading this sites Fan Fiction, and consider most of your idols.
My main ambition is to be a comic book writer.
But right now, while college is on hiatus for the Summer (I'm 18) I want to write a few piece of Captain Scarlet fan fiction... and I was wondering what you all thought of my idea.
You see, ever since New Captain Scarlet reimagined the series, I've been wondering how I would've done it. This fan fiction series is me sharing that with you folk.
Now, imagine how the new Battlestar Galactica took the original, and made it more suitable for a "modern, adult" audience... and imagine someone did this to Captain Scarlet.
It would be a brand new start, including a first fan fiction that begins it all... telling the origin of Captain Scarlet, and the war with the Mysterons, and also laying seeds for future stories.
Each piece would follow on from the previous, and the characters relationships, the plots mysteries, and the epic war before us would slowly unwind, until a series conclusion.
Now, I've been thinking of this for a long while now... how I would make it loyal to the series but at the same time more "mature?" How do I explain the Mysteron science of the original series, in a more cohesive way?
Etc, etc...
And I have an entire plot planned out... from start of the war, till the end of it. Characters would die. Spectrum would loose. Relationships will evolve. And the war would eventually end.
My question is, would anyone be interested in reading this sort of Fan Fiction?
Either way, I thank you for you time, and reading my rant, appologise for spelling mistakes (I'm eager to post and tired), and hope to have a great time around here.

I for one will be itching to read it - as I am with every piece of CS fiction I can lay hands on! - and anything that is aimed at 'a "modern, adult" audience' has my vote

There are plenty of pages of useful information on the main site and this forum offers a variety of help and assistance for writers who want to use it - including plenty of encouragement

Have fun with this - and I look forward to seeing the results.

If you look in the Fan Fiction board, there are some useful items in there, and we also offer a beta-reading service, if you want to make use of that. Just post a request on the Beta Readers Circle thread, or drop a line to us on spectrum_hq@hotmail.com and we'll be only too pleased to help.

I would definately read it.
I take it you're redoing OCS, right? Still a good idea. I'd still read it...

For example, and one I suspect you'll enjoy, I'd be using Serena Lewis, rather than Seymour Griffiths... simply because I enjoyed her character more, and find the idea of her and Adam having a relationship very interesting, especially when I consider how it would pan out in my story arc.
By the way, if anyone has any questions that they would like answered in person, or even if they want to brainstorm, feel free to add me to msn: marcusrrjw@hotmail.com
